Ridley’s
Believe It Or Not July 13, 2021
CV World Cases:
The CV pandemic across the planet continues on a slowing down basis the
new year with cases now over 188 million at 188,579,875 cases ( 188,084,379
cases yesterday); 12,108,223 of which are active, 176,471,642 closed with
172,406,315 recoveries (97.70% and 97.70% yesterday, and 4,065,327 deaths (2.30%
and 2.30% yesterday) to continue the slow trend of increased cases with
increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentage with some
plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 34 million at 34,807,813 (34,766,404
yesterday) with 4,879,927 active cases
of which 4,640 are serious or critical (4457 yesterday and 8,599 on 3/25/2021)
(now on a serious upswing due to Delta virus up to .0952% of active cases and
now a steady increase in the number of serious or critical cases to decrease
the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 24,631, 29,927,886 closed,
with 623,435 deaths (2.08% and 2.08% yesterday) and with 29,304, 451 recoveries
(97.92% and 97.92% yesterday). Our death rate percentage continues to slowly
improve and after many months is still .22% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing:
On a deaths per million population measure on a steady but slow climb to 1872 the U.S. ranks behind
Peru (5819) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously
unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new
method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.36% of total cases now;
Hungary the new number 2 has had a huge continuing surge in deaths with the
increase now slowing down and improving slightly to 3.89% of its
closed cases have died (3115), aping Hungary in terms of increase in deaths
Bulgaria 2633), Brazil (2503) which has been hit with a rapid
rise in deaths and cases and passed us and Italy, Argentina (2184), Belgium
(2165), (Italy (2117), Poland (1989), and the UK (1882) which had passed us
despite leading world in testing and now has new deaths barely
increasing), and slightly better than Mexico (1804), Romania (1792),
Chile (1764), Spain (1732), France (1703), Portugal (1689), Sweden
(1437) that never closed its economy down like we did, Bolivia (1457) and
Switzerland (1250).
Tests:
We have now conducted 513,711,557 tests (now at 1,542,663/M) compared to number
2 now France at 1,485,720/M) as we are conducting more tests in number and
on a per capital basis for all nations (other than those nations that contain
small populations like Bahrain, Denmark, Israel, Malta, Singapore and UAE)
other than the U.K. which remains as king of the mountain with respect to tests
at 3, 322,548/M.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his
lackeys that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the
border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern
Triangle and Mexico which been passed by Argentina to move down to 11th on
my list of deaths from the pandemic at 1804/M
with a fatality rate of 10.32% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the
Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as
follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of
number we need no more cases):
Guatemala: Active
Cases: 29,453 Deaths/M 534
Honduras: Active
Cases: 173,149 Deaths/M 724
El Salvador: Active
cases: 4,799 Deaths/M 377
US
Vaccinations: As of 7/13/21 334.9 million doses at .533 million per day finally
up from .527 million per day which means if the rate does not increase it will
take us now some 9 months to have 75% of the population vaccinated which many
believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who
now believes that 90% is required). In
California 43,692,413 total doses have been given (87.9% of doses received to
exceed the U.S. average of 86.5%), but even with the pressure of a recall to be
scheduled this fall which hopefully end Newsom’s term, California
has finally has not moved from 18th of the 50 states in terms
of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to
the states and at 51.2% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S.
average of 48.1% has not moved from 18th among the 50 states. A long way to
go still to get herd immunity in terms of getting vaccines received into arms
and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states
which means a great reason to recall this inept and hypocritical governor.
Non CV News: Searchers
at the collapsed Champlain South Tower with 95 deaths now confirmed with the
latest being a 1 year old girl but now only 14 believed to still be missing
have ended their search for survivors and are now searching to recover bodies
or parts thereof believed to be in the
rubble a they have removed 18 million pounds of concrete; our “border is secure
fantasy Mayorkas who seems to have no problem with the thousands of illegals
pouring across our border because in his mind they are soon to be Blue voters
has indicated that Cubans fleeing the oppression in Cuba by boat will not be
allowed in (human crisis does not apply when the refugees and asylum seekers
are likely to vote Red); Blues had fled the state of Texas to prevent a quorum
so what they falsely claim to be a voter repression bill worse than poll taxes
or literacy tests cannot be voted on (they should beware as Texas Rangers are
looking for them with orders to arrest on sight and bring at least one of them
back to Texas to create a quorum); Biden has turned the bully pulpit of the
presidency into a platform of pathological liars with his inanity of comparing
the Texas election reform law to Jim Crow racism; Chick-Fil-A which has been
the top fast food chain for 7 years has incurred the ire of 180 students and
faculty who want to ban Chick-Fil-A from the campus because of their false
claims of anti LBGBQ bias and contributions to Christian charities (time for
the good fathers of Notre Dame to spiff up their spines and tell these woke idiots
to pound sand); you know that woke in this country is getting out of hand when
the USOC wants to our flag rebrand (do these idiots thing the same athletes who
turned their backs on the flag or want to kneel when the anthem plays are
suddenly going to become superpatriots with a rebranded flag?) the MLB All Star
Game which was move due to the false claims of voter suppression from Atlanta
to Denver at a cost of at least $70 million that Atlanta voters should remember
next November was won by the AL for the 8th time in a row 5-2; Larry
Elder has just entered the recall race against Newsom; as Reds fume that Biden was given an economy
on a silver platter which his kneejerk high regulation high taxes will derail,
leave it to the reality of Biden holding on to Trump’s coattails:
Chicago
Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show
that through July 12, 2,021, gun violence involving mostly persons of
color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 2195
persons shot of whom 381 have died.

1. Gruntled Workers Day—created
by Ruth and Thomas Roy to honor all those workers who are happy to be in the
job they are in as opposed to those disgruntled workers who are unhappy and
wish they had the courage or ability to quit and find work at a place of
employment more to their ideals.
2. National Fools Paradise Day—observing that state of euphoria to many of us are sometimes
exposed to--a state of happiness based on belief, denial,
or false hope which after reality sets in as it usually does sooner or later
the state is shed to move on to find true and lasting happiness based on
reality either existing or what you intend to make it become.
3. 1960
Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1960 on this day was “Alley
Oop” by The Hollywood Argyles on a run
of 1 week in that position to join 18 other songs that achieved number 1 status
and 11 other acts with their first number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Here is a recording by The Hollywood
Argyles of “Alley Oop”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv-Ufban_Pk The Argyles were a musical ensemble for studio
recordings put together by songwriter
Kim Fowley and his fellow musician Gary Paxton and supposedly when this
recording was made the members were toasted.
4. Word of the Day—the word
of the day is “sangfroid” which means coolness or composure, traits which most
of our politicians on either side of the aisle lack.
5. Prescription Death--celebrating the birth on this day in 1966 of noted singer, songwriter and actor Gerald
Lavert who released 9 solo albums and whose career was cut short on November
10, 2006 when he was found dead on his bed in his home which an autopsy
revealed to be from a deadly cocktail of prescription narcotics and over the
counter medications when he was suffering from pneumonia causing acute
intoxication which the coroner ruled to be an accidental death.
On this day in:
a. 1863
riots broke out in New York City against conscription into the Union Army
prompting declarations of martial law and federal troops being sent to restore
peace and when peace had been restored 3 days later 110-120 people had been
killed and some 2000 wounded.
b. 1973 in what would be
the beginning of the end and the “smoking gun”, Alexander Butterfield before
the Senate Committee investigating the Watergate Breaking revealed the
existence of a heretofore secret tape recording system in the Oval Office,
c. 1985 Vice President George H.W. Bush became Acting President for a
day while President Reagan had polyps removed from his colon.
d. 2008 Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces attacked an observation base at near
Quam, Afghanistan and when they were finally stopped and had to retreat due to
artillery and air called upon them, 9 Americans had be killed and 27 wounded
and the attacking forces may have lost 21-65 killed and 45 wounded.
e. 2020
the body of actress and singer Naya Rivera was found in Lake Pru 5 days after a
boat had been found floating in it with her 4 year son by himself; her death
was caused by drowning and investigators she had died saving her son and
somehow getting him back into the boat before she went under the waters.
Reflections
on the NYC Draft Riots: “The enforcement of the draft was
yesterday seriously resisted in the ninth district of the city of New York. The
mob, variously estimated in numbers up as high as 30,000, attacked the officers
of this bureau in the performance of their duty, and destroyed the building in
which the draft had been conducted, and many of the rolls, records, and
appurtenances connected with the draft. The military and the police force of
the city on duty there were overwhelmed and dispersed.
In the present condition of
things, I do not think the draft can be made without additional force. I
therefore recommend that four regiments of infantry and a battery of artillery
be sent immediately to New York City…” James B. Fry, Provost-Marshal-General in a letter to the Edward
Stanton, the Secretary of War, July 14, 1863.
