Harris to Crucify Us on the DACA Cross

A Senator is elected to represent the citizens of his or her state
He or she is not elected to represent illegal aliens while without fund a shutdown awaits
Americans should not be crucified on a DACA cross
Should not be held hostage to the DACA wish list albatross
Kamala Harris will not vote for a funding bill unless DACAs are given a citizenship path
No end to chain immigration, no wall, no merit based immigration, time she feels the voters wrath
It is inexcusable that this leftist Boxer on steroids clone
Is voting against the tax cut just as we finally are free of the Obama <2 growth="" nbsp="" o:p="" zone="">
We will soon be up against a wall that our credibility and prosperity chances with be shattered
News flash Senator, full faith and credit and interest rate costs on national debt do matter
When Social Security and Medicare payments and other needed federal funds cease
May the voters reject Blues and senior citizens hordes to your offices in California and the Swamp be released
Amnesty without reform to end chain immigration, more border security, and a wall is DOA
Common ground could be found in expanding merit based immigration and extending the time before citizenship comes into play
You will not be able to the fault of a shutdown dodge
Your dream of the Oval Office will fail as Trump will not be dislodged

No Black Hole in Private Sector As Lauer Discovered

In the private sector where a company’s reputation is so important to its bottom line
Where vultures of lawyers circle ready to file lawsuits for harassment in a moment’s time
Sexual harassment is a serious matter for HR
To move quickly to improper behavior bar
We witnessed how quickly NBC and NPR moved to culprits sack
A superior, the subject of sexual harassment claim once reported, is given little slack
Unlike Congress where the Ethics Committee is more like a galactic black hole
A complaint goes in, never comes out and a complainer cannot tell a soul
A Kafka Castle like labyrinth of many closed procedural doors
Dispositions in favor of the complainer hidden from the public and so ignored
Add to the complexities of the process another fatal flaw
No matter how well intentioned when first entering Congress as an entrenched incumbent he or she feels above the law
A recipe for disaster especially when the person has never held a private sector job
Never exposed to the HR manuals’ warnings on abuse that would chances for a career rob.

Two Empty Chairs for Chuck and Nancy

In a debate that an opponent has dodged what tact should one take
To show the voters that voting for such opponent would be a big mistake?
Put at the dais or the table a placard with the opponent’s name and an empty chair
To reinforce the reality that the opponent is missing in action and not there
Americans have never like cowards or those who from the truth want to hide
The night becomes a golden opportunity for one to his or her opponent deride
The photo op yesterday afternoon at the White House where leaders gathered keep the ship of state afloat
Two empty chairs with placards for Pelosi and Schumer who clearly had missed the boat
While Trump and his Reds were there to work on tax cuts and a funding resolution
To keep the government running despite obstruction as a temporary solution
But Pelosi and Schumer arrogantly blew this nation off
Just as the nation expecting tax cuts is on a roll due to Obama regs Trump has doffed
The Blues’ empty chairs
Goes with growth cupboard ideas bare
Two spoiled brats angry they do not have a starring role
Hoping against hope no tax cuts so we will not achieve Trump’s 4+ % growth goal.
Wanting to sell their souls in exchange for the two leadership chairs
Left behind as the economy finally surges forward into prosperity’s rarefied air

A Tale of Two Christmases Some 100 Years Apart

In the winter of 1914  World War I had just begun
The race to the sea and the building of trenches for safety from the big guns
What was thought by the Germans before they were stopped at the Marne River
To be a short war to be ended before Christmas and its ice and snow and falling temperature shivers
Became a great killing field with gains measured in thousands of bodies and a few worthless yards
Caught the generals completely at a loss and completely off guard
Men caked in mud, covered in lice with the surrounding terrain a swiss cheese of shell holes
Digging trenches and dugouts deeper and deeper reduced to living to survive like moles
To the politicians and generals far from the front a time to achieve glory
To the grunts at the front the reasons for war quickly gone with little that was hunky dory
After week upon week  in a subhuman hell
Chased without mercy by grenades,  bullets and shells
On Christmas Eve the Germans starting singing Christmas carols that seemed to warm the cold winter night
Time to end this war, time to end the killing and maiming on the Eve of Christ’s birth that was out of place, not right
The Germans, French and Brits with a great leap of trust came up out of their trenches armed not with guns but small gifts
To exchange and sing carols together, to smoke without fear of a sniper’s bullet, to feel the spirit of Christmas uplift
The Christmas Truce as it became known lasted into Christmas Day
For a few hours they put down their arms and would not the other side slay
Fast forward to today and view the bitterness in the Swamp that is proving so hard to drain
CNN in a snit over Trump’s “Fake News” will attendance at the White House Christmas party for media refrain
If the soldiers in the trenches could a truce to hostilities of killing and maiming declare
Why cannot CNN in the spirit of Christmas and Goodwill to Men not go for a few hours for goodwill to share?
Just another example of the great partisan divide that has sown the seeds of distrust and gridlock
And why the Blues will obstruct to the bitter end Trump’s agenda and needed tax cuts try to block.

November 20, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Throw Out Your Leftovers Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 29, 2017 The male reptilian brain’s need to be sated has just claimed another pelt as Matt Lauer of NBC, due to allegations of sexual harassment  that appear to be not an isolated incident, was fired today (Swamp denizens in D.C. that believe you are above the law and have rarely worked in the private sector, take note of how the private sector responds to the heinous acts of sexual harassment and turn your Ethics Committee from the black hole of complicity to a transparent forum to protect staffers who have been abused); Trump in a powerful photo op moment had a photo of Ryan and McConnell meeting with him on the tax cut bill and funding the government and two empty chairs next to him showing that the spoiled brats Pelosi and Schumer were not there; tax cut bill has been moved out of Committee in the Senate and is moving forward (any Blue up for reelection in 2018 who is dumb or partisan enough to vote against it should be hiring a real estate agent to find a good deal in his or her district because you will not be returning to the Swamp); open border advocate Illinois Representative Gutierrez will not be seeking reelection as speculation mounts that he will be running for president (good luck on that Congressman as communities struggle with the influx of illegals and fear for their safety due to MS-13); Trump spoke with the president of China this morning on North Korea that now has an ICBM that will be able to reach any part of the U.S.(time is running out for the obese lunatic to dismantle and destroy his nuclear program or face complete annihilation of his regime); sanity has returned as a federal judge told Leandra English, the deputy director of a rogue agency, the Consumer Protection Agency Bureau created by socialist Elizabeth Warren that is accountable to no one including Congress, that she will not be able to prevent Trump’s  appointee from taking over (thank God another leftist ideologue who has never worked in the private sector and would not understand the needs of business to service consumers if her life depended on it as questions arise on who is funding Leandra English’s pathetic and destructive lawsuit to remain in power and continue to raise havoc on financial institutions); public radio icon Garrison Keillor was just fired by Minnesota Public Radio for “inappropriate behavior”; almost a stuck record or a gruesome  remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style,  the carnage in Chicago continued unabated with total shootings by mostly minorities against mostly minorities in 2017 through November 28 increasing to 3338  of whom 582 have died while nothing is being done to hinder or prevent the killings of minorities by minorities.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Post Malone, factoids of interest for this day in history, hoping you have no need for a lapactic today, a relevant quote by Neil Morrissey on leftovers, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. Throw Out Your Leftovers Daythose leftovers from Thanksgiving have been providing breeding grounds for all manner of bacteria and today is the day to move them to the outdoor trash can.
2. International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People—created by the UN in 1977 to promote awareness of the need to recognize the rights of Palestinians in a very troubled part of the world where peaceful relations between Arabs and Jews are very difficult to come by.
3. 2017 Number One Song—the number one song in 2017 before we head back in time and on a run of 5 weeks in that position was “Rockstar” by Post Malone. Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GFAZBKZVJY
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “lapactic” which means a purgative or laxative which hopefully is not needed today because you have drunk a lot of water.
5. So Typical of the Swamp—celebrating or bemoaning the birth on this day in 1908 depending on your point of view of the poster child of why we need term limits in Congress of Adam Clayton Powell, the first African American Representative from the State of New York who served in Congress for 26 years but in the end proving that power from safe districts corrupts as he toward the end of his career was soaking taxpayers by taking extravagant trips overseas and having his ex-wife on the payroll for years although she lived in Puerto Rico and did no work whatsoever.

a. 1952 Dwight Eisenhower fulfilled a campaign promise by flying to South Korea after his election as president to see what could be done to end the hostilities there.
b. 1963 President Johnson created the Warren Commission to investigate the assassination of President Kennedy; many but not all of its findings and documents were recently released to the public.
c. 1967 Robert McNamara one of the architects of the failed strategies of the Vietnam War resigned as Secretary of Defense in time to not be so employed when the North and Viet Cong launched the Tet Offensive in 1968 which caught us completely by surprise.
d. 1972 Atari released Pong, the first successful video game (compared to today’s video games it seems so simplistic and primitive).
e. 1987 two North Korean agents acting under orders from the father of the obese lunatic that is hell bent on being destroyed by U.S. nuclear weapons planted a bomb on Korean Air Flight 858, deplaned at the flight’s first stop and the bomb was not discovered until it exploded en route to its second stop, killing all passengers and crew.
Reflections on leftovers before you throw them out today: “I love cooking and eating - I'm a total foodie. It started off as a survival thing as a student, when cheese and potato pie was all I could afford to make. My most successful results come from concocting something with leftovers. Any chef will tell you that you should taste as you cook, so I might make it a bit more spicy, yogurty or eggy.” Neil Morrissey, noted English actor Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs. Waste of Time to Meet with Trump????

Schumer and Pelosi remind us of the spoiled brat who because he was not picked for his favorite team
Took the only soccer ball home despite the other children’s howls and screams
Schumer on the Senate floor announced an agreed upon meeting with the president would be a waste of time
Cancelled even though the market on hope of a tax cut continued on all cylinders its record climb
Pelosi and Schumer are playing with a possible shutdown the game of Russian roulette
Hypocritical claiming pious voices their newfound concern over increasing the national debt
A party with no ideas to spur growth other than to take more money from the private sector off the table
Talk about believing that their no growth or anemic Obama like growth does not stink—seduced by that fable
If the Blues continue this obstructionist boycott of tax cuts and the economy with a Red tax cut really soars
In the midterms old Chuckie and old Nancy and their lackeys will hear only to them the closing of Congress’doors
Americans do not want prosperity from a tax cut to be held hostage to illegal aliens’ “rights”
They are sick and tired of Blues putting puts what’s good for a nation beneath their desire to wage a scorched earth fight
Americans are sick and tired of Schumer and Pelosi putting their desire for power ahead of the nation’s needs
Will be outraged if no tax cuts because of the Blues, the economy and the Trump Rally go to seed
No more Blues on the legislative front being MIA
No more Blues and Swamp creatures wanting the economy to be KIA
Schumer’s and Pelosi’s obstruction of each and every Trump idea in a word stinks
Be forewarned Blues if it comes to spinning the cylinder of shutdown Trump will not blink

November 28, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Giving Tuesday

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 28, 2017 Schumer and Pelosi are acting like spoiled children and canceled a scheduled meeting with the president along with McConnell and Ryan to discuss tax cuts and keeping the government open (totally pathetic Chuck and Nancy, totally pathetic; when will you start earning your pay by compromising and seeking common ground as opposed to our way or the highway?); Elizabeth Warren is on the warpath, literally and figuratively, over the theater at the Consumer Finance Protection Agency that has two dueling heads, one appointed by Trump and the other named as a deputy head by the resigning head appointed by Obama and the press is on the warpath over Trump’s label of Pocahontas for Warren who falsely claimed Indian heritage to obtain a teaching job at Harvard; MSM is on a a frenzy to dish FLOTUS over her taste in dress and Christmas decorations at the White House which this poet believes both  are stunning (you be the judge: http://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/2017/11/28/first-lady-melania-trump-trolled-over-white-house-christmas-decorations-outfit.html); the Rocket Man is at it again with another ballistic missile launch over the Sea of Japan—when does the president and the Pentagon wake up to the reality that China is going to do squat against the rogue regime and we are going to be forced to launch a preemptive strike with all weapons including nuclear to eliminate this obese lunatic and his entire family followed by an opening of the border to allow anyone who wanted to migrate into South Korea to do so; on the sexual relations front former Hiawatha High School biology teacher Gabrielle Bauman pleaded no contest in her six month birds and the bees extracurricular romp with one of her minor students,  another staffer of Conyers has come forward to detail his sexual abuse, and 180 women have come forward to complain of being sexual abused by massagers with evidently large, active reptilian brains at Massage Envy, a national chain of massage parlors; on the good news Christmas Spirit front and so appropriate to report on this Giving Tuesday, while most Black Friday shoppers were fighting over vanishing stock of bargain priced goods, a Good Samaritan in Cherry Hills, New Jersey known only as Charlie K, wrote a check for $10,732 to pay off the balance due on 62 lay-away orders; almost a stuck record or a gruesome  remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style,  the carnage in Chicago continued unabated with total shootings by mostly minorities against mostly minorities in 2017 through November 27 increasing to 3333  of whom 581 have died while nothing is being done to hinder or prevent the killings of minorities by minorities.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Rae Sremunnd, factoids of interest for this day in history, hoping you leave any Laodician attitudes at home in trying to face issues that many confront you, a relevant quote by Oprah Winfrey on giving, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. Giving Tuesdaycelebrated first at the Belfer Center for Innovation and Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y in New York City in 2012 and supported by such philanthropic organizations as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as a way the survivors of the orgy of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday can atone for their gluttony by giving money, gifts and their time to those less fortunate.
2. Turkey Leftover Day—since tomorrow is Throw Out Leftovers Day, today is appropriately the last day to celebrate this observance by serving up what turkey remains from one’s Thanksgiving Day meal.
       3. 2016 Number One Song—the number one song in 2016 on a run of 7 weeks in that position was “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmund. Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8m9zhNAgKs
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “Laodician” which means lukewarm or halfhearted which when it comes to attacking Trump the MSM is anything but Laodician.
5. Rice Had Too Much Spice—celebrating the birth on this day in 1936 of former Senator Gary Hart who managed George McGovern’s disastrous campaign against Richard Nixon and so emboldened ran for the Democratic nomination for president against Walter Mondale only to be sabotaged by his reptilian brain with rumors of an affair with Donna Rice which ended his candidacy.
On this day in:
         a. 1942 in the deadliest nightclub fire in our history the Coconut Grove in Boston caught fire killing 492 patrons and employees (32 more than the authorized capacity of the building) and injuring 100’s more; the owner of the club Barney Welansksy notorious for bricking up and hiding exits to prevent people from leaving without paying was charged with numerous code violations and 19 counts of manslaughter, convicted, and sentenced to 12-15 years in prison and then pardoned after serving 4 years; on his release, suffering from cancer, he told reporters that he wished he had died with the 492 victims, which he did 9 weeks later due to the spreading cancer.
b. 1964 members of the National Security Council met with President Johnson to recommend a two stage plan for escalating the bombing of North Vietnam that never achieved the objective of blocking the flow of men and material into South Vietnam or forcing the North to come to the peace talks table but did achieve the goal of having the Hanoi Hilton and ten other prisons achieve 100 percent occupancy.
c. 1972 Claude Buffet and Roger Bontems had the dubious distinction of being the last persons executed in France by being guillotined at the La Sante Prison in Paris.
d. 1989 in the face of growing protests the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia announced it was giving up its political monopoly in the country.
e. 1990 the Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher announced her resignation as the head of the Conservative Party and as Prime Minister to be replaced by John Major.
Reflections on why Giving Tuesday should be a daily regime throughout the year: “To move forward, you have to give back.” Oprah Winfrey. On Conyers Pelosi Between Rock and Hard Plate

Unruh once said that money is the mother’s milk of politics
As the Swamp is reeling from sexual abuse allegations that make us disgusted and sick
Not since Clinton stalked the White House halls
Have we seen a confluence of entertainment and political sexual abuse that appalls
Members of Congress like Franken, Conyers, and now McCaskill
Prove that hypocrisy is the political steroid thrill
They think the laws they write to not to them
An iron curtain of non transparency and deception has descended to transparency defy
Molest a female staffer and go to the taxpayer bank
Pay “severance” to settle knowing your colleagues will behind you close ranks
What ever as a leader like Schumer or Pelosi must in sexual cases never do
Allow the voters’ wrath and transparency into the curtains get through
Power is the name and power under all circumstances they will never release their grip
No wonder under the obstructionists our chance of tax cuts to spur growth may slip
Conyers may be an icon in the rights of women to protect
But in a safe district, this aging pervert the Ethics Committee should eject
Or if he were smart before his reputation and legacy is flushed down the perversion drain
He should resign gracefully to avoid the increasing on Congress the spreading perversions stain
Hillary in 2016 with great hypocrisy taking millions from Wall Street campaigned that no bank is too big to fail
That no bank CEO is too big or important to the economy to avoid jail
We do not need another bar in politics that a great icon in the fight for women’s rights
Is so important to the struggle to ignore his abuse and payment concealment so he can stay in the fight
Pelosi in this mess and her thirst for power has on one point hit the nail squarely on the head
Reds agree w/her claim that now more than ever she must remain at her post because if she does a lightning rod for the Reds!

November 27, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Cyber Monday

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 27, 2017 Brace yourself and your wallet having survived Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, today is Cyber Monday as internet shopping is on a roll; Mt. Agung in Bali erupted again on Saturday which has prompted authorities to warn residents to flee as a larger eruption with lava flows is a growing concern; although Conyers has resigned his minority chairmanship of the House Judiciary Committee, the Congressional Bobsey twins of sexual abuse, Conyers and Franken, are refusing to resign (so typical of the Swamp); hopefully Santa was not looking to stock up on reindeer for Christmas in Norway as tragically 106 of the animals were killed in a collision with a freight train while migrating;  the Consumer Finance Protection Agency attacked by banks and financial agencies as an oppressive rogue agency with no Congressional oversight is in the litigation docket news today as Obama appointee Corday appointed English, a Democrat, as his deputy director and then resigned thwarted by Trump by naming Mick Mulvaney as interim director and prompting a law suit by English to block the appointment (God help us if bureaucrats can scam the powers of the duly elected commander in chief by appointing their successor—just another example of why Trump needs to tweet less and concentrate more on removing from office Obama appointed lackeys); Senator Claire McCaskill after being castigated for charging taxpayers for her use of a private plane had her husband sell it but when it comes to fleecing the taxpayers, her husband purchased a more expensive private plane and immediately moved to block tracking of its use by the public under moves made by Obama to remove as a requirement the credible threat of a terrorist attack on the plane (watch this issue dog this Senator in her reelection fight in 2018 as it should); the sexual abuse scandals continue unabated and claim the latest perpetrator Richard Branson who is alleged to have stuck his head between two breast of a singer partying on his private island and motorboating them; Trump is meeting with the four leaders of Congress including the Blues top Grinches on the issue of tax cuts before Christmas and not shutting the government down; on the over the top dog whistle rhetoric that really needs to end, Morrisey was ranting that if he had the chance he would “kill Trump for the sake of humanity” (those of us who bemoan the rancor from leftists idiots like Morrisey should boycott all of his records and any advertisers who place ads on any performance in which this loose cannon appears and urge the Secret Service pay him a visit on the issue of inciting an assassination of the president); almost a stuck record or a gruesome  remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style,  the carnage in Chicago continued unabated with total shootings by mostly minorities against mostly minorities in 2017 through November 25 increasing to 3319  of whom 579 have died while nothing is being done to hinder or prevent the killings of minorities by minorities.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Adele, factoids of interest for this day in history, hoping you can find a cure to the growing languor of the Swamp gridlock, a relevant anonymous quote on shopping, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. 1. Cyber Mondaycelebrating the growing importance to a retailer’s bottom line of on line sales which continue to expand as the number of brick and mortar retail outlets continues to decrease due to closures or bankruptcies.
2. National Four Hugs Day—today is the day to find four souls who could use the warmth of a caring and spirit uplifting hug although why only four is a mystery unsolved by this poet.

4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “languor” which means listlessness or weariness which is what more and more Americans are feeling about the gridlock that grips the Swamp.
         5. Pen Is Mightier Than the Sword But Not the Cigarette—celebrating the birth on this day in 1909 of James Agee, film critic for Time Magazine, screen play writer for the African Queen, and Pulitzer Prize winner for his autobiography A Death in the Family (awarded posthumously as he was a heavy drinker and chain smoker and died at the age of 45 ironically in a cab enroute to a doctor’s appointment.)
On this day in:

c. 1924 the first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was held in New York City.
d. 1945 CARE was founded to send CARE food relief packages to a Europe devastated by WWII; the organization still exists but has expanding its efforts outside of Europe to other poverty stricken areas of the globe.
e. 1973 in a high water mark for bipartisanship the Senate voted 92-3 to confirm Gerald Ford pursuant to the 25th Amendment as Vice President of the United States an act which the House would also confirm a month later by a vote of 387-35.

Schumer and the Blues Are the New Grinch Stealing Christmas

Congress is returning to fight in the Senate the  tax cut battles
Listening to Schumer and his lackeys’ obstructionist anti tax cut prattle
Joined by the MSM and one or two misguided RINOS and a growing fear that tax cuts may face a death rattle
As McConnell aided by Trump will be furiously in a pro vote hunting sprattle
Schumer has laid down the law that his lackeys must not compromise an inch
As Christmas nears with Americans looking for a tax cut gift, the Blues are the despised Grinch
Armed with their false message that tax cuts will kill jobs and are for only the rich
With a power boost by the MSM the tax cut car to 3-5% growth may swerve off prosperity highway into the red ink ditch
What Americans should listen to and really want to hear
The tax cuts will produce jobs and higher wages in a message crystal clear
Schumer in his desire to control the Senate once again will do anything to undermine this nation
Consign it to the miserable years of less than two percent growth under Obama with choking economic stagnation
Already in their zeal to admit DACA recipients there is rumbling that they are prepared to shut the federal government down
Trump must fail no matter what the cost to Social Security and job growth might be, Blues are happy to see revival due to bias drown
Although they do not have the facts on their side as the Kennedy and Reagan tax cuts show
With their united front and MSM cheerleaders and slant it is they who may win the job to Americans snow

Congressional Sex Scandals Still Not Addressed

Congress is returning back to the Swamp to face tax cuts, shutdown and a  massive duress
Out into the open are sexual abuse scandals that for years in the past have been suppressed
17 million dollars of taxpayer funds have over the years been paid to settle claims
Confidential hidden from the public so we never know the guilty Congressional names
Disguised in Conyers’ case as severance pay
The truth of sexual harassment in the halls of Congress never to see light of day
But now the dam of silence holding back the waters of sexual abuse have been breached
Both to Blues and Reds will soon the wrath of voters’ outrage reach
Congress should never be just another Hollywood like casting couch
Congress must clean up its image in the workplace that is far too louche
Too long members have ignored other members’ predatory behavior with their staff
Leaving them unknown and thus immune to the voters’ rightful wrath
A week has gone by and still no commencement of House and Senate Ethics Committee probes
How much longer do we have to endure too many members ruled by their reptilian cranial lobes?

Two Penneys From Mayor Kenney-Dribble

From the City of Brotherly Love in an already divisive year
The mayor spouts off with over the top rhetoric most us do not want to hear
James Kenney proves the adage of penny wise pound foolish
Attacks Trump as a bully and a punk and on ending TPS downright peevish
Not to be in bards undone
Rails against Trump’s for doing a lousy job of raising their son
Rhetoric that is guaranteed for the listener tune the speaker out
Obstacles to any rational discourse on the solution to quickly mount
After Haiti was devastated by an earthquake in 2010 and over 300,000 died
TPS was granted to almost 60,000 refugees and now Trump has an extension denied
Like any welfare or entitlement program started, TPS seems impossible to end
But temporary is temporary and after seven years Trump is bucking the an entitlement program never ends
Some of the refugees may have jobs others may not
Information on crimes that had been committed is now belatedly being sought
It is a tough call especially if while here, the refugees added links to the chain
A spouse, a child or two, impassioned pleas to protect them from the hardship of feeling the pain
Tough call but I suspect that the best and brightest we did not receive
Better to have increased aid so Haiti could faster rebuilding achieve
