October 31, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Halloween

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 31, 2019 Along totally partisan lines, the House passed a resolution to proceed with an impeachment inquiry setting forth the procedures to be followed which have been attacked immediately by the Republicans (hold on to your hats this is going to expose this nation to a very divisive and partisan destructive ride while any attempt to deal with issues confronting us will be put on the back burner); in the height of chutzpah, Blues are touting that because former Republican Amash has switched parties and voted in favor of the inquiry, the vote on the inquiry is bi-partisan (what a total delusional crock! Compared to the Reds who made no allegations that because two Blues broke ranks and failed to support the inquiry that the move was anything but partisan); a silver lining on the vote is a spike of funds coming in to Trump’s reelection efforts coffers; the impeachment balloon may have lost some air when former NSC aide for Russian and European affairs who listened in on the call between Trump and the President of  Ukraine testified today that he heard nothing wrong with the conversation; retiring Rep Katie Hill, noted for being openly bi, sporting an Iron Cross tattoo on her inner thigh and favoring threesomes could not gracefully leave but gave a blistering speech attacking the double standard and the misogyny of Trump, Kavanaugh and the Reds while ignoring the role of her behavior (good riddance Hill!); Chris Cuomo, the pseudo journalist at CNN who is there because of his family name for the sole reason, is in a snit fit with Eric Trump who has slammed Hunter Biden for his earnings from China and Ukraine due to his father’s name;  in Chicago as of  October 30, 2019, 2352 have been shot, of whom, 403 have died but the minor miracle of no deaths on the 28th and 29th has ended on the 30th ; in Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, is coming in second place in the amount of gun deaths as 283 have been murdered (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history, a musical link to Rod Stewart,  the fact you are prevoyant and a relevant quote on the Enron scandal by Robert Kiyosaki, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like Father’s Day, college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. Girl Scouts Founders Daycelebrating the birthday on this day in 1860 of Juliette Low who founded the predecessor of the Girl Scouts in Great Britain in 1911 and in the United States in 1915.

Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOl7dh7a-6g.  This color blind model railroad enthusiast has been knighted as is still going strong at age 74.
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “prevoyant” which means to have foresight, a trait that will keep most people out of trouble from doing things.
5. Smoking, Drinking and Candy--celebrating the birthday on this day in 1950 of Canadian born actor and comedian John Candy who was overweight and a heavy smoker and drinker and died way too early from a heart attack on March 4, 1994.

      b. 2000 a Russian Soyuz 22 spacecraft was launched with a crew to the International Space Station which has been continuously manned since its arrival.
      c. 2002 a Houston Grand Jury indicted Andrew Fastow, former chief financial officer for Enron of 78 counts of fraud and money laundering and copped a plea of six years on September 26, 2006 and was released on probation on December 16, 2011.

Reflections on the Enron Scandal: “During the Enron debacle, it was workers who took the pounding, not bankers. Not only did Enron employees lose their jobs, many lost their retirement savings. That's because they were at the bottom of the investing food chain.” Robert Kiyosaki, noted author of 26 books, including the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series.

October 30, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Sugar Addiction Awareness Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 30, 2019 Fires in both Southern and Northern California continue to rage as high winds continue unabated causing the Reagan Library to be evacuated in Simi Valley; on the judicial bias front the ABA, aka the American Biased Association following its interview of Trump Nominee, Lawrence VanDyke, to the leftist bastion 9th Circuit now being changed by him, has opined him to be unqualified due to his bias against the LBGT community and other failing which he tearfully denied (in the ABA’s distorted view it seems only card carrying members of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party should be nominated); the order of Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee, calling for the release of redacted grand jury material in the Mueller Report has been stayed during the DOJ’s appeal of the order; the autopsy performed by the forensic pathologist hired by Epstein’s brother has  called into question the coroner’s earlier determination of a suicide due to three fractures in the throat area that a much more common in cases of strangulation rather than suicidal hanging (those additional perverts in Epstein’s infamous black book must be once again in a state of apprehension following the news); a federal judge has reopened the defamation case brought by the Covington Catholic High School student defamed by the Washington Post at a “Make America Great Again” Rally at the Lincoln Memorial in January of this year; AOC continues to bat 1000 when she opens her mouth to rant as she has done blaming the California Northern Fires on climate change when the cause of the blaze has been mismanagement by PG&E; just when we thought it was safe to look into the future for existential nature threats to our way of life, scientists are now proposing that a massive dust storm destroyed the Akkadian Empire that ruled a large part of Syria and Iraq in 24 to 22 B.C.;  the refusal of the Blues to credit Trump continues with its pedal to the metal by denying any credit to him for the raid that killed Baghdadi; since lies bounce off Schiff like water off a duck’s back, good chance “Lying Adam Schiff” is unfazed by Rep Gaetz’ filing of an Ethics Complaint against him for his role in the impeachment process;  in Chicago as of  October 29, 2019, 2349 have been shot, of whom, 403 have died but in a minor miracle none on the 28th and 29th; in Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, is coming in second place in the amount of gun deaths as 283 have been murdered (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history, a musical link to the Jackson Five,  the fact that avoid the preterition of things important to you and a relevant quote on the broadcast of The War of the Worlds by John Houseman one of its co-producers, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like Father’s Day, college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. 3. 1970 Number One Song— the number one song in 1970 on this day on a run of 5 weeks in the position was “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson Five. Here is a recording of the song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-apaIOOoAo.

 e. 2014 Sweden became the first European Nation to recognize the State of Palestine.
Reflections on the broadcast of The War of the Worlds: “Our actual broadcasting time, from the first mention of the meteorites to the fall of New York City, was less than forty minutes. During that time, men travelled long distances, large bodies of troops were mobilized, cabinet meetings were held, savage battles fought on land and in the air. And millions of people accepted it—emotionally if not logically." John Houseman one of the co-producers of The War of the Worlds.

Sugar Addiction Awareness Day

Today on the eve of Halloween is Sugar Addiction Awareness Day
To alert us to the dangers from sugar like obesity and diabetes that will come our way
This holiday wins the prize for the holiday timing closest to the mark
On the eve of the day when ghosts and goblins in search of candy go out into the dark
But sadly after filling their bags with all number of candy treats
Yet not sated after days of too much candy to eat
Another sugar addiction seed is sprouted to join others already in the brain
To cause any chance to fight obesity or diabetes to go down the drain
And parents of young toddlers to cope with the sugar highs
Scratching their heads to wonder why we cannot on Halloween find
More non sugared treats not forcing them to endure the chaos while they unwind
The founders of this holiday must keep up the good work
To try to slow down the sugar demons running berserk

October 29, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not International Internet Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 29, 2019 Governor Newsom has been hit by the Perfect Storm—raging wildfires in Northern and Southern California that have evacuated hundreds of thousands of residents, power blackouts to prevent further fires starting that have put millions in the dark, homelessness that strews our streets and sidewalks  with feces and spent needles, and rising gas prices too far above the national averaged but true to his out of touch illegal alien concern focus has turned to slamming PG&E for decades of profit before safety greed (good chance that PG&E shareholders will be wiped out in bankruptcy including California’s public pension funds that are huge shareholders of it); after rightfully characterized as a Banana Republic dictator for the complete absence of due process impeachment inquiry, Pelosi has been forced to call a formal vote to launch a formal impeachment inquiry (House members in strong Republican Districts like Harley Rouda who ran and won as not being a Pelosi puppet which he has proved to be should be sweating blood which will turn into a flood when the expected partisan vote to impeach occurs); on the challenged marital front George Conway, husband of White House Adviser Kellyanne Conway, is ranting that Reds need to stop defending Trump and that he belongs in prison (can only speculate the degree of frost in that household but if their marriage stays together they could be the poster family that the need to compromise transcends political beliefs which we desperately need in these troubled times); Biden, beset by quid pro quo allegations now including Romania involving Hunter, has seen his support in the polls in the first primary state fall from a commanding lead to being third and in desperation is slamming Trump for almost letting Baghdadi escaping killing by U.S. Special Forces because he removed our meager trip wire out of the way of the Turks ; Mark LIndell, founder of My Pillow, Inc and whose face appears constantly selling his wares on line, came out with a warning that Amazon will turn American towns and cities into ghost towns and is calling for an internet tax to level the playing field (love it when Bezos gets push back either from Trump or even AOC); in another example of how desperate the Blues are to seize control of the Senate, Blue Sara Gideon, running to replace Susan Collins, is being sued for illegal making contributions to the Maine Democratic Party for use against Collins (another case of ends justify the means by Blues who are terrified that Trump will win reelection and nominate one or more SCOTUS appointees); the war between the dwindling moderate wing of the Democratic Party and the growing progressive wing continues unabated as SQUAD members endorse progressive candidates in Texas and Illinois running against moderates;  in Chicago as of  October 28, 2019, 2341 have been shot, of whom, 402 have died but in a minor miracle none on the 28th; in Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, is coming in second place in the amount of gun deaths as 283 have been murdered (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?

Rising Star Blue Rep Katie Hill Down In Flames

Senator Harris was proud to claim she inhaled
Katie Hill posted lit bong drugging on her threesome detail
But what was much worse on her inner thigh
Shows she must have been invincible or really high
Photo of a German military Iron Cross
Not a Swastika but a good way to Jewish support toss
Another rising Blue House star who morals outside the Swamp didn't learn
As an open bisexual into threesomes certain election loss and has crashed & burned
Iron Cross may be a symbol for bikers who want to ride free
But worn by the thousands by SS who shot Jews or hung them from trees
One more out of touch with Middle America leftist Blue elite
At least she saw the writing on the wall and resigned her seat

October 28, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Statute of Liberty Dedication Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 28, 2019 The impeachment witch-hunt has finally come to the conclusion it needs to have a semblance of due process  and hopefully end the closed door interrogations followed by selected leaks by Schiff and his merry band of henchman as Nancy Pelosi announced the House will vote this week on impeachment inquiry procedures which hopefully will afford Trump a semblance of due process like what was afforded to Bill Clinton; Hunter Biden is looking more and more like the premier quid pro quo fixer as new documents reveal his representation of  a Romanian tycoon while his father Joe was in charge of U.S. investigations of corruption in that country (it is a sad day if Joe knew (a logical conclusion) the amount of money Hunter was being paid in Romania, Ukraine, and on the back end in China for the sole purpose that he was the son of Vice President Joe Biden; in a reaffirmation that you can run but you cannot hide from the U.S. and its anti-terrorism manhunts, U.S. special forces corner the leader of ISIS in his lair in Syria and to escape captivity, the coward detonated a suicide vest which sadly also took the life of three innocent children with him (Blues and Reds were spiking when Obama’s approved mission to kill or capture bin Laden resulted in his death but the sounds of silence from the Blues it seems on al-Baghdadi’s death); on the fire front in Northern California PG&E is being hammered by the Perfect Storm of uncontrolled wildfires that may have been caused by damage to its power transmission lines and a loss of revenue from having to shut off power to hundreds of thousands of customers to prevent further fires from wind damage (it is going to take a miracle for PG&E to emerge from Chapter 11 without its shareholders including many pension funds from being wiped out fueling Newsome’s inane denunciations of corporate greed); in Los Angeles a fire now known as the Getty Fire broke out this early morning burning  8 homes and threatening and forcing the mandatory evacuations of over 10,000, including many celebrities that live there, and are raging, fueled by Santa Ana Winds in the area; in the World Series, the Astros have come back from the dead and have won three in a row to lead series 3-2, overcoming a breast flashing by several fans promoting breast cancer awareness; former Blue Senator Kay Hagan of North Caroline, a rare moderate has died from a tick borne virus while Elijah Cummings was laid to rest with accolades and sadly from Blues like Hillary Clinton with attacks on Trump and Reds (what a disgrace by a delusional woman who cannot accept the fact she lost); Katie Hill, a Blue from California and openly bisexual, resigned from the House after photos surfaced of her in revealing acts with a female staffer (good to see sexual harassment not limited to powerful men taking advantage of a less powerful woman but includes powerful people of any sex taking advantage of less powerful people of any sex; the Iron Curtain of no criticism of leftist Blues by MSNBC which refused to cover the Katie Hill scandal after it surfaced after several day has finally been lifted;  President Trump slammed the police chief of Chicago as of  October 27, 2019, 2336 have been shot, of whom, after one day of no deaths, 401 have died; in Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, is coming in second place in the amount of gun deaths as 280 have been murdered (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history, a musical link to the Beatles,  the fact that you are free from prestriction and a relevant quote on the Statue of Liberty by Nhat Hanh, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like Father’s Day, college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient.  e. 1971 Prospero became the first and only satellite to be launched by a British rocket; it is still in orbit although no longer communicating with Earth and is expected to enter the Earth’s atmosphere in 2070.
Reflections on the Statute of Liberty: “We have the Statue of Liberty on the East Coast. But in the name of freedom, people have done a lot of damage. I think we have to build a Statue of Responsibility on the West Coast in order to counterbalance. Because liberty without responsibility is not true liberty. We are not free to destroy.”
Nhat Hanh, noted Buddhist monk from Vietnam and the author of over 100 books, 70 of which are in English. The quote is an astute one, one which the thugs of Antifa have seem to have forgotten when they attack  free speech.

October 21, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Iodine Deficiency Disorder Prevention Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 21, 2019 Tulsi is not backing down on her attacks on HRC, who is still mired in the insanity of not accepting her 2016 defeat and now adding Tulsi to the list of reasons why she lost (interesting to note O’Dork, Buttegieg, Yang, and Williamson, candidates trailing badly in the primary polls while the front runners like Sanders, Warren, Biden and Harris have gone totally silent probably shaking in their spineless boots over the potential wrath of the Clinton machine- @alaskanpoet.com #RedFlagHillary); far left and feces and needles ridden San Francisco has instituted a PC curtain on its city workers preventing them on city business to travel to or do business with 22 states with restrict laws on abortion (what happened to Interstate Commerce and the states being the laboratories of democracy and how many hours after birth before an abortion cannot end in infanticide to not be restrictive?); 65 year old Dennis Quaid, who battled drug addiction for many years, is now the poster child for proposition that things get better in  sobriety as it was announced he is engaged to 26 year old Ph.D. candidate Lara Savoie; in a better late than never moment, CNN’s legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin must be tired of trying unsuccessfully wash the cack from this reporting as he came out and announced his regret for calling HRC’s illegal use of a private server to be no “big deal”; Zuckerberg is in a limelight he would like to avoid, admitting he has been advising Pete Buttigieg on some hires but claiming he has not endorsed him (given the furor over social media’s bias that would be a great position for him to take whether it is true or not); Felicity Huffman is now serving her 14 day slap on the wrist sentence and at least to visitors appears to be receiving special treatment (with our two systems of justice why should that revelation not surprise us); while HRC delusionally wallows calling Tulsi a Russian another target of her wrath Monica Lewinsky is now co-producing 15 Minutes of Shame; as of  October 20, 2019, 2292 have been shot, of whom, 393 and the one day hiatus of killings has ended; in Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, 277 have been murdered in Baltimore (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?

The Forces Is No Longer With You With Drugs--celebrating the birthday on this day in 1956 of Carrie Fisher best known for her roles as  Princess Leia in the Star Wars films who battled bipolar issues and drug addiction and on December 27, 2016 the Force Left Her as she stopped breathing on a flight from Europe four days earlier within 15 minutes of landing at LAX.
On this day in:
      a. 1921 President Warren G. Harding gave a speech condemning lynching of African-Americans in the South.
      b. 1946 the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya was defeated.
      c. 1959 the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum was opened to a grateful art loving public.
 d. 1967 The National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam organized a march of 50,000 protestors from the Lincoln Memorial to the Pentagon.
 e. 1994 in an another agreement not worth the paper was printed on North Korea and the U.S. signed an Agreed Framework which required North Korea to stop its nuclear weapons program and submit to inspections which it obviously did not.
Reflections on the lynching of African-Americans: “The racial terrorism of lynchings in many ways created the modern death penalty. America's embrace of speedy executions was, in part, an attempt to redirect the violent energies of lynching while ensuring white southerners that Black men would still pay the ultimate price.”― Bryan Stevenson, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption.

October 18, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Alaska Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 18, 2019 Warren is now in the Blue lead in three polls but in terms of her disconnect with the voters she has a slight problem with her message that the economy is working for the rich but not ordinary people which ordinary people by large majorities seem to disagree; Justice Sotomayor broke SCOTUS’ rule of not starting to ask question until at least 2 minutes has passed in an attorney’s opening argument before the court not once but twice (should talk to Justice Thomas who rarely if ever asks questions); many of us suspected that Hillary’s ability to process reality has been damaged by Trump Derangement Syndrome when she vowed she could beat Trump again but news now indicates the effects are perhaps much worse as she is touting a theory that Tulsi Gabbard, one of the few Blue candidates to have a grasp of reality is a Russian agent being groomed and will run as a third party to insure Trump’s win (shades of a Manchurian Candidate déjà vu); Morning Joe ignores a basic rule of thumb to get discourse and debate to solve issue don’t call the other side dumb; Pelosi is not a hero for pointing her finger accusingly at Trump rather she’s more like a spoiled 2 year old in adult clothing upset at not getting her way just like Brewer was not a racist for pointing her finger at President Obama, merely an example of a journalistic double standard; Hanoi Jane was arrested again for protest inactivity on climate change in D.C. and is making noise about moving there so she can protest once a week (such a hypocrite with her proclivity to fly in private jets and ownership of a huge house in California so at least she won’t be taking a private jet to get arrested protesting climate change); Hunter Biden whose activities with the Ukrainians and the Chinese have cast a huge quid pro quo shadow over his father’s candidacy admitted he had regrets over the events but not on marrying his current wife after 6 days of meeting her (impetuous behavior is one of the hallmarks of an addict so should not be surprising); on the quid pro quo front a State Department Official testified he raised concern over Hunter’s Ukrainian dealings in 2915 but was told to drop the matter; on the tech front, Mark Hurd, the co CEO of Oracle, has died; Boeing is in hot water over claims that safety concerns over the 737 Max were concealed or downplayed and the stock today dropped almost 7%; as of  October 17, 2019, 2236 have been shot, of whom, 388 and the one day hiatus of killings has ended; in Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, 275 have been murdered in Baltimore (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?

On this day in:
      a. 1922 the British Broadcasting Company was established to provide a national system in the United Kingdom for radio broadcasters.
      b. 1945 the Soviet nuclear program received plans for the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki stolen by spies under its control and bidding.
      c. 1954 Texas Instruments announced the first transistor radio.

Reflections on the transistor radio: “he closest Western Civilization has come to unity since the Congress of Vienna in 1815 was the week the Sgt. Pepper album was released.. . . . At the time I happened to be driving across country on Interstate 80. In each city where I stopped for gas or food — Laramie, Ogallala, Moline, South Bend — the melodies wafted in from some far-off transistor radio or portable hi-fi. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard. For a brief while the irreparable fragmented consciousness of the West was unified, at least in the minds of the young.” Langdon Winner, noted Thomas Phelan Chair of Science and Humanities at Renssalear Polytechnic Institute
