Pelosi,
Schiff and Nadler wanted to escape the Swamp and its impeachment fray
And
with a friendly game of golf talk impeachment strategy and put their golf skills
on display
Pelosi
went first and approached the Red first tee and carefully let loose with a
picture perfect swing
A
flight down the fairway then hooking to the left into a water hazard to bring
No
one wants a stroke so a Mulligan was generously affirmed
A
drive not long but on the fairway and dry terra firm
Schiff
was next and after getting his shifting hips to stay still
A
mighty slice that flew not straight but over the out of bonds hill
What’s
good for the goose is good for the gander among friends
So quickly another Mulligan so a penalty he would not
contend
Slower
swing, head down hips on contact to
pivot
In
fairway not too far but bouncing over a deep divot
Nadler
was next and praying for a decent drive
Not
to be as he topped the ball bouncing up and into a dive
Barely
off the tee so a Mulligan was without hesitation freely granted to him
Slowing
his swing down it bounced near the water but to hit his ball he would not have
to swim
And
so the three played with the rules of golf bent
With
discussion of 2016 Trump win until they were politically spent
Mulligans
passed out like Halloween candy
And
gimme putts to in the end make the score seem dandy
The
caddies looked on with amusement as the laws of golf they seemed to shred
All
the while talking about how the electoral process had skewed by the Russians’
collusion with the Reds
When
the reporters for their opinions the caddies were sought
Comparing
their golf to politics here was their thought
In
golf when there is no tournament a few Mulligans are the order of the day
To
hide the lack of skills too many weekend golfers are prone to display
In
politics when a race is over, it is over and a Mulligan is not there
And
to use impeachment as a kind of Mulligan does not seem wise or fair
A
lesson the impeachment troika would do well to learn
Ere
their political career off the tee crashes and burns
