November 11, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Veterabs' Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 11, 2017 Today we honor our vets for their service and sacrifice not with just applause and ovations but hopefully also with a job if an employer, contributions to such groups as Wounded Warriors and other veterans’ support groups, and outrage over the callousness of the VA Hospitals to their medical and psychological needs http://alaskanpoet.blogspot.com/2017/11/veterans-day-and-one-percent.html; Trump conversed with Putin in Vietnam and indicated again that Putin denied any attempt by Russia to interfere with our presidential election as the two issued a joint statement that they would continue the fight against ISIS until it was defeated in Syria; on the sexual harassment front Judge Moore vehemently denied the allegations of sexual abuse against a 53 year old woman who was 14 at the time but has remained silent for almost 40 years and we find that another woman who dated him and kissed him when she was 17 and he 34 worked as a translator for HJC’s campaign and several other Blue candidates; while President Trump remained in Asia, Melania stopped at Elmadorf Air Force Base in Anchorage and visited a children’s center to see what the children were making and joined them in playing with Playdough (what a class act); once again when it comes to offense the Beatles were proved right that “All You Need Is Love, Love is all you need” as Bryce Love against the Huskies at Stanford ran for 166 yards and three tds against a defense that had only allowed three tds the whole season prior to the game as Stanford knocked off the Huskies 30-22;  almost a stuck record or a gruesome  remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style,  the carnage in Chicago continued unabated with total shootings by mostly minorities against mostly minorities in 2017 through November 10 increasing to 3224  of whom 560 have died while nothing is being done to hinder or prevent the killings of minorities by minorities.

Reflections on the veterans and Veterans’ Day: “But this Veterans Day, I believe we should do more than sing the praises of the bravery and patriotism that our veterans have embodied in the past. We should take this opportunity to re-evaluate how we are treating our veterans in the present.” Nick Lampson, former Blue Congressman from the State of Texas   Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs.
