Jane Fonda once maligned by vets and conservatives
as “Hanoi Jane”
At 84 has announced to her fans that she has boarded the chemotherapy train
After being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on an Instagram post
No one whatever the age wants to learn of cancer but this one is more
survivable than most
Over 80 percent of patients with it are able to survive
So for six months of chemo we doubt if we will see her performing live
I think other than this cancer she is in good mental and physical health so her
career will not nose dive
We hope that for many more years she remains with us alive
We should all wish this actress well
That this disease is not her death knell
And as she undergoes chemo probably not flying private jets to the climate
change fight
With high carbon emissions too much hypocrisy to take such flights
As to her role in a AAA battery in an outrageous at the time photo op
As the Pentagon Papers revealed in retrospect we needed more of us to protest
that the Vietnam War should stop
