In the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, New York
occurred one of the greatest upsets in sports
The USA Men’s Ice Hockey Team against the 4 time Gold Medal winners Soviets caused
them to come up a goal short
A hockey game upset to be remembered forever and the pride in the USA went off
the charts
A unifying moment for the nation that in recent times we seem to from too quick
to depart
We are unique among nations in protecting the right of free speech
Though the left and social media are pushing for censorship to it reach
In 1989 the Supreme Court even ruled that burning of the American flag in
public to Reagan policies protest
Was a protected form of expression allowed under the First and the burner could
not face arrest
Today may be another time and in the BLM riots and Cancel Culture the flag is
too often burned
As much as it may disgust so many that died for it we will not the burners’
rights spurn
Now as the Tokyo Olympics approach an alternate to our BMX Olympic Team
Which being on it or any Olympic team would be an athlete’s dream
Chelsea Wolfe a transgender female has announced if she wins the Gold
On the podium we will the flag being burned forced to behold
She has that right in public but not the right to be on that team compete
She should be stripped from the flag before the podium she steps on to greet
Or better yet to avoid her concealing it to then stand and set fire
Inform her position on the team has now expired
