Ridley’s Believe It Or Not May 30,
2021
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic
across the planet continues on a slowing down basis the new year
with cases now over 171 million at 171,037,054 cases (170,633.437
yesterday), 14,340,267 of which are active, 156,696,787 closed with 153,139,967
recoveries (97.73% and 97.73% yesterday, and 3,556,820 deaths (2.27% and 2.27%
yesterday) to continue the slow trend of increased cases with increased
recovery percentages and decreased death percentage with some plateaus, dips,
and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 34 million at 34,043,068 (34,035,318
yesterday) with 5,592,640 active cases of which 6,136 (6,197) yesterday and
8,599 on 3/25/2021) (now down to .11% of active cases and now another blip down
to decrease the number of serious or critical cases to increase the reduction
from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 23,135), 28,450,428 closed, with 609,544 deaths
(2.14% and 2.14% yesterday) and with 27,840,884 recoveries (97.86% and 97.86%
yesterday). Our death rate percentage continues to slowly improve and after
many months is now .13% lower than the world rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million
population measurement on a steady but slowing climb to 1832 the U.S. ranks
behind Hungary the new number 1 which has had a huge continuing surge in deaths
with the increase barely slowing down and improving slightly to 4.10% of its closed cases have died (3084),
aping Hungary in terms of increase in deaths Bulgaria (2559), Belgium (2143), Brazil (2160) which has been hit with a rapid
rise in deaths and cases and passed us and Italy (Italy (2088), Peru (2077),
Poland (1950) and the UK (1873) which had passed us despite leading world in
testing and now has new deaths barely increasing), and slightly better
than Mexico (1717), Spain (1708), Argentina (1700), Portugal (1674), France (1673), Romania (1583), Chile (1514), Sweden
(1419) that never closed its economy down like we did but has recently been experiencing
a steady rise in deaths,
Switzerland (1240), and Bolivia (1225).
Tests: We have now conducted 479,490,895
tests (now at 1,440,907/M) compared to number 2 now France at 1,296,346/M) as
we are conducting more tests in number and on a per capital basis for all
nations (other than those nations that contain small populations like Bahrain,
Denmark, Israel, Malta, Singapore and UAE) other than the U.K. which
remains as king of the mountain with respect to tests at 2,660,182/M.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by
Biden and his lackeys that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the
border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the
Northern Triangle and Mexico which has moved up to 10th on my list of
deaths from the pandemic passing Spain at 1717/M and the 3 countries in the
Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as
follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of
number we need no more cases):
Guatemala: Activecases: 13,086 447Deaths/M
Honduras: Activecases: 146,705 629Deaths/M
El
Salvador: Active cases: 2,593 345
Deaths/M
US Vaccinations: As of 5/30/21 294.9 million doses at 1.32
million per day down from yesterday’s 1.39 million on per day in the last week sounds
impressive but if the rate does not increase it will take us now back to some 4
months to have 75% of the population vaccinated which many believe is necessary
to develop herd immunity. In California 38,261,502 total doses have been given
(80.7% of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.5%), but even with
the pressure of a recall to be scheduled this fall which hopefully end Newsom’s
term, California has moved down from 24th
to 25th out of the 50 states in
terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses
delivered to the states and at 43.0% of its population fully vaccinated
compared to the U.S. average of 40.7% has not moved from 23rd among the 50 states. A long way to go still to get herd immunity
in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the
population fully vaccinated compared to other states which means a great reason
to recall this inept and hypocritical governor.
Non CV News: Another mass shooting this time in
Miami at a rappers release party as a SUV stopped, gunmen got out and starting
shooting, killing 2 and wounding some 25
and then sped off and are still being sought (in his condemnation the
Miami police chief condemned the shooters and called for long prison sentences
for those criminals who illegally possess guns while reminding everyone that
law abiding citizens have the right to bear firearms; former FDA Commissioner Scot Gottlieb has
expressed what many have believed for years that leaks of viruses out of labs occur
all the time (more troubling question which may prove impossible to answer was
were the Chinese trying to weaponize COVID-19; there is an adage that the third
time is the charm which Where’s Waldo blew it first with her inane jokes at the
U.S. Naval Academy then with her it’s about me photo wishing people would enjoy
a long weekend as finally she today tweeted homage to those vets who have
served and sacrificed; Patrisse Cullors, the cofounder of the BLM who has
announced she is retiring from the BLM was featured at a Harvard Law School
panel where she advocated the destruction of Israel; hold on to your hats as a
black threatened a clerk at a drive thru beer outlet with an assault prompting 2
officers to respond who then shot but did not kill the armed suspect when he
started to approach him and did not respond to commands and threatened the
officers with his rifle (since BlM does not it seems in terms of protest distinguish
between armed blacks and unarmed blacks one hopes that the officers’ body cams were
on); Mia Khalifa, a former Lebanese porn star has been ranting vial anti-Semitic
tweets against Israel; Blues walked out of the State Legislature in Texas to
prevent a quorum to prevent Texas from voting on a voting statute which to be
expected the Blues contend is a racist attempt to suppress black voting; Biden
has announced he will continue discussions with Reds on his “infrastructure”
bill into June (the increase in inflation may have even Blues questioning the massive
deficit that Biden’s proposals will entail;
Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com
is back to show that through May 29, 2021, gun violence involving mostly
persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well
with 1439 persons shot of whom 249 have died.

Reflections
on UN Peacekeepers: “For all the
civilians saved thanks to the presence of peacekeepers, there have been those
who were lost – the United Nations personnel who sacrificed their lives for a
noble cause. Even as we mourn our fallen colleagues, we are all uplifted by
their unflinching commitment and are inspired to strive even harder for the
collective cause so eloquently envisaged in the United Nations Charter: a world
free from the scourge of war."
-- Jan Eliasson (Former President of the UN
General Assembly)
