Transparency Is Great For Africa, But Not In Obamaland--IGs In Revolt Over Lack Of Transparency

Money may be the mother’s milk of politics but hypocrisy is its shield
When truth is needed, transparency and accountability the first to yield
Obama at his press conference intones good governance with transparency equates
On being transparent or finding people accountable by this administration we continue to wait
While waiting for transparency we learn of a revolt of dozens of government IGs
Complaining federal agencies are denying them access to documents they need to see
47 out of 73 IGs signed a letter to complain their investigations are often stalled
By a pervasive culture from the top down to delay and to stonewall
IG stands for Inspector General, independent not Lerner type political hacks,
Whose task is to uncover waste, fraud, and mismanagement that federal dollars attract
Agency after agency and to no one’s surprise the Holder’s DOJ
Is frustrating their work to theirs and our dismay
Obama also spoke about fraud in African aid that from the people deprive
Making it more difficult for poverty stricken to improve their lot rather than just surprise
With a straight solemn face which is his manner of speech
But surprise the GAO tells us almost 700 billion fed spending proper accounting failed to reach.
Not a word about Russian troops massing on the border of Ukraine
With Hagel indicating an invasion may be near; looks like are wrist slaps were in vain
To a question on the potential Russian invasion Obama indicating sanctions were working
Between laughter and sips of vodka, I am sure the Russian troops know no US weapons aid is lurking
All in all a typical energetic performance, all form and applauding transparency in speech
While here at home only the densest of opaqueness is within our reach.
