Ridley's Believe It Or Not August 17 History National Custard Daytry

Ridley's Believe It Or Not—August 17, 2014:  Trust your weekend was a good one and that you enjoy the holidays of dubious distinction along with the factoids and quote from Larry Ellison (amazing man) with a smile on your face, a positive attitude and a bowl of vanilla custard to end your day.
,          1. Meaning Of Is Day-- commemorating one of the classic obfuscations of all times during Clinton’s scandal with Monica Lewinsky—Yale Law School turns out great lawyers but as this incidence proved sometimes lacking moral integrity.
           2. National Thrift Shop Day—celebrating in a time where every dollar saved is golden, thrift shops where you can find a great bargain.
           3. Delphis Would Not Know A Cloud If It Jumped In Front Them --celebrating not those stone reading Oracles of Delphi, but rather the birthday of Larry Ellison the founder of Oracle born on this day in 1944.
           4. If You Are Going To Drown Mae West Is Your True Friend—celebrating one of the more iconic sensuous stars of the silver screen but also the namesake for the life preservers used in World War II.
           5. National Vanilla Custard Day—great way to end a Sunday.
On this day in
             a. 1953 the first meeting of Narcotics Anonymous was held.
             b. 1959 Kind of Blue, one of the most infleuentional and best selling jazz albums of all times was released by Miles Davis.
             c. 1982 the first compact discs were released for sale to the public in Germany.
You are not the third wealthiest man in the world by being penny wise and pound foolish: “Taking care of your employees is extremely important and very, very visible.” Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle.
