Iditarod Update: 3/14/12:06 A.M. 8 days, 12 hours, 6 minutes from start of race.
Redington, Kaiser and Diehl are all out of the last checkpoint, Safety just 22 miles away from Nome with Redington having a hour 22 minute lead the sure winner barring a breakdown but 2^nd place being a tossup with Kaiser having only an 11 minute lead over Diehl. Hall, Maixner, Holmes and Failor out of the penultimate checkpoint White Mountain while Porsild (8^th)  the leading female , Burke (9^th) the leading male rookie with a 4 hour 8 minute lead over the 2^nd fastest male rookie Keefe (10^th) and Marrs (11^th) are the only mushers there. Kaduce (12^th) has left Elim while Royer (13^th) the second leading female has a 3 hour and 10 minute lead over the leading female Deeter (16^th), Peck (14^th), and Turner (15^th), all of whom are still in Elim. Out of Shaktoolik Naaktgeboren (20^th) has a 6 hour 30 minute lead over Mike Williams (21^st) who has only a 7 and 8 minute lead over the Berrington twins Anna (22^nd) and Kristy (23^rd). Eric Kelly is still in last place out of Kaltag a long and lonely 346 miles from Nome. Look for an update on who the first 10 finishers later today.
