Iditarod March 13, 2023 13 hours, 40 minutes, 7 days, 23, hours and 19 minutes from start of the race: The top three mushers have not changed with Redington in the having left Elim with its 8 º dropping to 3 º at 3: A.M. enroute to  Galovin with its 0º dropping to -4º at 3: A.M. with Nome beckoning only 95 miles in the distance. Kaiser arrived in Elim 14 minutes after Redington left and is still there with Diehl. 7 mushers have left Koyuk, 171 miles out of Nome with its 7º  dropping to 1º at 3:A.M. with Mille Porsild, the leading female in 7^th and the 2 leading male rookies Burke, rising to 8^th and Keefe dropping to 10^th . Former leader Marrs is in 11^th all by himself in Koyuk. 2 mushers  in 12^th and 13^th place have left Shaktoolik with it 11º dropping to 2º at 4:A.M. and 221 miles out of Nome. 4 Mushers are still in Shaktoolik including the leading rookie female musher KattiJo Deeter in 15^th who unless she drops out should be the fastest female rookie in the race. In the race to win the last slot to participate in the purse as opposed to a measly $1024, Deke Naaktgebore is in 20^th place with a 2 hour 32 minute lead over the 21^st musher. The Barrington twins are in lollygag enjoying the scenery mode in 22^nd and 23^rd place. And for the coveted Red Lantern Trophy which rewards the perseverance needed to finish the race when the chances of winning or at least being able to share in the purse, rookie Jed Stephensen has a 1 minute lead over veteran Eric Kelly. More updates tonight as the winner should be arriving in Nome in the next 1-2 days and the Red Lantern some 6 to 7 days thereafter. Mille Porslid with a team of only 8 dogs may not win the race, but without doubt this woman's dogs are the best dressed in terms of style and warmth
