The Iditarod the Last Great Race on Earth 3/13/22/30

 

Iditarod update 3/13/22/30 : 8 days, 8 hours and 34 minutes into the race: 4 mushers are in White Mountain only 77 miles from Nome with the temperature at 1º dropping to -1º at 3: A.M. with Redington with a 4 hour 17 minute lead over Kaiser who may thrill the waiting fans in Nome with a dog to dog nose race as he has only an 8 minute lead over Diehl. 5 mushers including Porsild 7 only 9 minutes behind 6^th place Jessie Holmes and rookie Burke 8 have left Elim 123 miles from Nome while 2 mushers are still there rookie Keefe in 10^th and Marrs in 11^th . 4 mushers are in Koyuk with  rookie KittiJo Deeter only  15 minutes behind Jessie Royer. The Berington Twins are still 22^nd and 23^rd still out of the purse money but only 19 minutes behind Williams in 21^st place but some 1 hour and 11 minutes behind 20^th place Ramey Smyth. In the race for the Red Lantern Eric Kelly has faded to now be behind Jed Stephensen by almost 3 hours. With only 77 miles to go from White Mountain the update tomorrow should have the top three musher awfully close to Front Street in Nome.
