Wright and Porter-Two Victims One Dead One Dead and the Other Scarred for Life

 

Daunte Wright was not an altar boy who criminal acts shunned
Charged in 2019 with armed robbery and assault with a gun
To pry the $820, tried to the victim choke
Bailed out on $100,000 bond but possessed a firearm and in July had it revoked
Arrest warrant issued for his failure to on bail revocation hearing appear
Cops approaching car after running plates would have reason for safety to fear
Wright must have known back to jail he would head
So he did the wrong thing against the cops and resisted arrest instead
We mourn any death and empathize for his families’ grief
But know the expected wrongful death settlement like Floyd’s will bring some relief
But Potter will have to endure all manner of attempts to her as a racist portray
And take to her grave the grief that she made a mistake and an unarmed man she did slay
Along with possible guilt that if found not guilty of violating manslaughter law
The city she protected for 26 years will be burned down and she will be the casue
A 26 year career believed to be flawless and Police Union head
Now and maybe along with her pension if found guilty shed
Kim Potter, a veteran of 26 years on the Thin Blue Line
Has been charged with 2^nd degree manslaughter and if convicted up to 10 years to be confined
The statute names 5 ways that conduct provokes an arrest for being a life snuffer
(1) by the person's culpable negligence whereby the person creates an unreasonable risk, and consciously takes chances of causing death or great bodily harm to another
Porter yelled again and again she was going to tase Wright
Mistakenly holding her gun so a bullet not electrodes took flight
Was that culpable or not a jury will have to decide
With the threat of massive riots of burning and looting being a not guilty downside
We don’t have a picture of the taser used as yet released
But if black and similar to her Glock may explain why she drew he piece
In a city ravished earlier by Floyd’s death and now Chauvin’s trial
The black population with this death is obviously riled
The statute may have an unwritten sixth reason to arrest
(6) by a cop charged but freed  that results in riots also passes the manslaughter test
