After far too many cases of unarmed blacks being shot and
killed
Too many funerals and the cities paying far too many wrongful death bills
In addition to riots and defund the police calls across the
nation
Better qualified and better trained police is viewed as a
salvation
It is not easy to gain admittance to a police academy as the
first step
Harder to stay with the physical and myriad of laws a cop cannot forget
In years past before BLM and Defund the Police
With good pensions and salaries and benefits on the increase
More new cops hired than those lost in line of duty,
resigned or retired
Now across the nation police forces are experiencing net losses
as fewer being a cop aspire
More and more cops feel city hall does not have their backs,
morale is in the tank
More and more even outside black and brown communities only
scorn never thanks
With fewer cops on the streets most crime especially violent
is on the rise
911 once quickly answered have become a life endangering on
hold exercise
Karen Bass of L.A.
who is focused on the increasing number of homeless
Has finally woken up to the crime wave and shortage of cops
to address
The light bulb has finally been turned on Angelenos’ concern for safety is causing
potential loss of office distress
Her solution announced is to lower the bar for academy
admission, lower difficulty of the tests
To admit trainees with lower IQ and to root out the “right
wing extremists” who a badge now wear
Mayor Bass sadly is not immune from the myth of right wing
extremist being found everywhere
To raise morale to attract more cops we need to enforce the laws not plea down to
release felons too soon
And misdemeanors before a report has been filed so they believe from more
serious crime they are immune
Start public ads to cops as protectors not occupiers portray
End the push to end qualified immunity when is split second
a cop has had to slay
Corporate policy has to be all cops we serve as valued customers welcomed here
Customers in a diner, coffee house, or other public seeing a
cop a thank of appreciation from lips should appear.
