February 10, Ridley's Believe It Or Not

Golf is a game where spectators are respectfully silent as the golfers prepare to strike the balls but at the 16th hole at the Waste Management Phoenix Open something rare as a streaker wearing at least some underwear raced on to the green, did a pole dance on the flag and raced away pursued to jump into the water at an adjacent hole to be cuffed for his moment of “fame” or “shame”. In Oakland, an Angel among us Jen Angel the owner of the bakery Angel Cakes was the victim of an armed robbery while sitting in her car outside a Wells Fargo branch who ran after the thief who jumped in a car and drove away, dragging her 50 feet as she tried to retrieve her purse. Sadly this social activist an opponent of “state violence, carceral justice and incarceration” was severely injured and was declared brain dead with her organs being donated to save other peoples’ lives. In a don’t leave home without it moment Blue Rep. Angie Craig fended off an intruder attacking her as she entered the elevator at her D.C. apartment building by throwing hot coffee in his face. Hope you have purchased all your Super Bowl LVII snacks and looking forward to watching a game with friends and family knowing that for once your square in the pool will win. Hope You find Ridley's Believe It Or Not worth your time reading and if not please respond with an “Unsubscribe” in the message.
Ridley’s Believe It Or Not February 10, 2023
Noted Holidays: American Cribbage Day Created by the American Cribbage Congress on February 9, 2017 and first celebrated on February 10, 2017, which is the anniversary of the birth of Sir John Suckling who created the game in the early 17th Century. Great game to teach children set theory and arithmetic skills and the impossibility of a hand that has 19 points in it.
Word of the Day:  The word of the day is “agersia” which means the quality of not growing old which given all the aches and pains that too often affect the growing population of our senior citizens is a desired trait if confined to physical and not emotional as too often in our debates there are few “adults” in the room.
Number 1 Song: The number 1 song on this day in 1962 was “Peppermint Twist” by Joey Dee and the Starliters on a run of 3 weeks to share with 19 other songs that achieved number one status while 14 acts, including Joey Dee and the Starliters,   achieved their first number status. Here is Joey Dee and the Starliters performing “Peppermint Twist”:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WIvZu4dPQQ
February 10 Famous Birthdays: George Stephanopoulos, Rhodes Scholar and Communications Director under Clinton, Blue political advisor and Co-Host of Good Morning America , born on this day in 1961 who stands at 5’5”-5’7” but is not looking for a birthday gift of growth hormone as his wife claims “he says he is 5’7 but he is 6’7” in bed.”
