Life is always on an uncertain lease
Only God with some help from one’s genes will know when the
term will cease
A great reason to live each day as one’s last
Where your acts will make God and his angels smile and not
be aghast
We mere mortals should do what we can to increase a healthy
life span
A low injury or disease job, exercise, diet, avoiding stress
and a smoking ban
But in the aftermath of a tornado storm that 6 workers
killed
Destroying an Amazon warehouse, leaving a lot of grief and a
huge restoration bill
In Tornado Alley homes rarely lack
A storm cellar for safety when the tornadoes attack
No storm cellar in the Amazon warehouse that the six workers
may have saved
Prompting AOC to unleash a new rant and rave
Followed by her introducing a bill to require
Tornado storm cellars in warehouses large enough to shelter any worker Amazon
hires
For AOC to want to save workers’ lives from tornadoes the
costs AOC believes you cannot object
The idea of a cost/benefit study is an idea she would reject
Amazon for the increased costs of storm cellars could take
the financial hit
For new warehouses and existing ones it would have to
retrofit
But other warehouse owners or lessees with the increased
costs might not survive
For an event of nature that sometime in the future may or
may not arrive
To justify the cost of underground construction that may
keep some workers alive
Rather than a bloated federal agency of Bureau of Storm Cellar
Standards a better idea to help business thrive
Across the nation jobs are going unfilled
Creating massive overtime labor bills
Or production goals leading to profit targets not met
Market one’s warehouse with a storm cellar as the best bet
To when the tornadoes come barreling down Tornado Alley
Working in this warehouse means you will not be added to the death and injury
tally
