Albert Hammonds’ “It Never Rains in Southern California” is
getting little air play
As monsoon rains and blizzards are hitting So Cal on this
day
The mountains in surrounding the L.A. are crowned in white
That we go to the snow instead of vice versa makes So Cal alright
Big Bear already deeply covered in snow and expecting several more feet
The eagle nest with 2 eggs warmed by mom’s feather blanket to
freezing temps to defeat
The Grapevine after CHP convoys is now closed as So Cal
drivers in the snow are not vets
Traveling north today on the 5 from L.A. is a trip you would do well to forget
Heavy fog reducing visibility and blocked in some parts due to snow
The 101 without the blizzards only rain is also not the way to go
Mudslide warnings and closed due to flooding in many segments
Not what global warming weather was supposed to have to us sent
Further north cities like Portland are being covered in snow.
But the good news in San Francisco is only clouds not rain
The bad news the feces are still on the sidewalks not washed down into the
storm drains
At least in the colder weather the vapors of stench do not rise
But still the sight along with used needle makes us mourn the City by the Bay’s
demise
The reservoirs are filling up and the snow pack is huge
But one storm does not a drought end so we momentarily welcome the deluge
But not the mudslides in areas burned by wild fires
And if the rain continues of it we will soon tire
