Reading, watching or listening to the daily news
With so many deaths, O.D.’s, crimes and disasters makes one very blue
Finally in Minnesota in the town of White Lake
Good news bookends that are icing on the cake
Walking to a B.P. gas station to buy a snack
65 year old grandmother Diane Gordon saw on the ground a paper sack
Opened it and to her surprise wads of cash later added up to almost 15 grand
Always taught as a child “if something isn’t yours keeping
it is banned”
Police were called and in the sack, there were wedding cards
for nuptials that day
A new bride and groom in their haste to start life as a couple dropped it going
away
Money returned and not for a moment thoughts to it have kept
The right thing to do too often too many forget
The second bookend is even more profound
Gordon had her car damaged a year ago and had to walk to work and to get around
2.7 miles each way miles in the winter is not much of a joy
But a needed job is a needed job for life’s necessities to enjoy
To her surprise residents of the town to a Go Fund Me account chipped in
And she now has a new Jeep for commuting and pleasure spins
The moral of these bookends is always to do the right thing
Even if you are clueless to what karma your right thing act will bring
