Over the years my
support for the death penalty fades more each year
The time spent on death row if sentenced before execution is so long the penalty
inmates may no longer fear
Death penalties should murder against innocents deter
Not an annuity for lawyers fighting the needle insure
With executions few and far between
And the growth on death row we cannot seem to wean
Maybe it’s time to change death to life without any possibility of parole
Insures they will not on the outside kill again and helps cutting costs which is a
desired goal
The victims’ families may want closure and revenge
An eye for an eye to the death of a loved avenge
But closing could come by knowing the killer was rotting in a cell
Not after appeal after appeal and last minutes stays making for a stressful Hell
As Christian is it not far better to forgive
The killer who locked in his cell you wanted him to continue to live
