Early Morning Mush Report on Iditarod for March 11, 2016

March 11, 2016 Early Morning Mush Report
Total rearrangement of the top five mushers as Brent Sass has rocketed into the lead, leaving Ruby (495 miles from start) at 1:17 this morning, with Jeff King still there and followed by the trio speeding out of Cripple (425 miles from start) of  Aily Zirkle, still on hyper speed, Ken Anderson and Mitch Seavey, also on hyper speed as he should be since his father Dallas is only one minute behind him. Ellen Halverson is still in last place and resting at the Nikolai checkpoint facing a very lonely race to finish in Nome but the now hands on favorite to win the Red Lantern. One more racer has dropped out of the race. Check out this shot of Dallas Seavey on the trail coming into Ruby at 3:17 in the morning today—note the light on his head.
