Another Obama Snub

First the funeral of Betty Ford

Another chance to have the dignity of the office restored

Then the funeral of Scalia almost across the street also missed

If a conservative, to this narcissist you do not seem to exist

If life or in death you are completely dismissed

Now another First Lady has passed and once again Obama is remiss

Nancy will be laid to rest and once again Obama will not attend

The same divisive message his MIA will send

Nancy Reagan may had her faults and her “Just Say No” was probably a lost cause

But when it came to protecting and caring for her husband, she had no flaws

When the cruel hand of dementia or Alzheimer’s is dealt the victim will suffer

 But as the long goodbye begins and the memories fade, the blow to the family is much tougher

Nancy after the disease announcement was always at his side

Up to and including the day Ronald Reagan died

Obama will not be meeting with a head of state to our security and economy improve

No he will be in Austin at a festival of music, tech and film, speaking and showing off his hip and cool moves

Another missed chance to in a small way this growing divide heal

At least he is not playing golf which would be typical and even more surreal
