June 3,, 2023 Ridley's Believe It Or Not

President Biden has signed early today the debt ceiling bill but the Fitch rating service while maintaining our AAA credit rating is still maintaining a “negative watch” as quite clearly we have not taken the needed steps to control our increasing debt before any significant rise in borrowing costs make that task more problematical. Former Vice Chair of Target claims the tuck friendly wear that conceals male equipment making it probably easier to enter women’s locker room or bathrooms by concealing male equipment is cause for boycott. Florida Rep Maxwell Frost showed America any sense of decorum and decency he has completely lost at a Paramore concert belting out “F*** De Santis F***Fascism (wonder if he will have the idiocy to utter those words in the House that prompt censure). Profit rules and Gay Pride in many places drools as commentators have pointed out Gay Pride events are found everywhere during Gay Pride Month in places like U.S. or Canada but nowhere to be found in the Middle East Muslim countries where being openly gay can result in a toss from a high story building without a parachute. Once again in the Taiwan Straits the Chines Navy is playing navigation chicken with U.S. and Canadian warships conducting joint naval exercises there (Biden must get off the pot and accelerate the shipment of already paid for advanced fighter aircraft to help Taiwan defend itself and us to have to not face a real nightmare if China invaded to destroy or capture some 90% of  world’s chip  making capacity there). Former  Obama and Trump W.H. Doctor  and now Representative Ronny Jackson is claiming the W.H. medical staff is guilty of medical malpractice in allowing a really cognitively impaired Biden to run again. DeepAI founder and CEO Kevin Baragona is a rabid prompter of AI  but warns it is a two edged sword capable of bringing great benefit to society but capable of inflicting great harm and he questions Washington’s commitment to properly oversee its continued development when VP Harris has been appointed by Biden as the AI czar. To no one surprise Oklahoma destroyed Tennessee 9-0 and will face the winner on Monday of the Stanford v. Washington Game to be played on Sunday at 12:00 P.M. PDT—Go Cardinal!

             Noted Holidays: World Club Foot Day: Created by Ponseti International  Association on this day in 2013, on the anniversary of the birth of  Doctor Ignacio Ponseti, the creator of the nonsurgical, low cost Ponseti Method which is usually 100 % effective of curing club feet in the some 200,000 infants mostly in developing companies that develop the congenital disorder.
            Word of the Day: the word of the day is “anthrophobia”  which means a
fear of humans which is fortunate if you are hiking in the woods or camping that most animals have but in bear country would be advisable for hikers and campers to be armed.
             Song of the Day:  The number 1 song on this day in 1974 was “The Streak” by Ray Stevens on a run of 3 weeks week to share with 35 other songs achieving number 1 ranking, while 25 acts achieved number one hit status for the first time. Here is a recording of Ray Stevens performing “The Streak”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRdWEpCF5L4                      June 3 “The Doctor Is In”: Doctor Jill Biden, former Second Lady with Biden as VP and now the First Lady with him, was born on this day in 1951 in Hammonton, New Jersey, the oldest of 5 sisters. She met Biden on a blind date after her divorce with her first husband and married him on June 17, 1977. She is the first First Lady to have a teaching job at a junior college lever which she has continued today. It is believed that she has supported his run for reelection but at his age if he wins and his two cranial aneurisms many wonder if her major role during his second administration will be that of Edith Wilson who sheltered and protected Woodrow Wilson from the public learning the effects of his stroke.
             June 3 Historical Events In Rhyme
             1.     On this day in 2013 the trial of transgender U.S. Army private Manning began for leaking classified military information to Wikileaks/The prosecution claimed Manning aided the enemy and 90 years in prison they would seek/Manning was convicted and sentenced to 35 year to be credited with pretrial served/On January 17, 2017 to the ire of Reds, Obama commuted all but 4 months to bring his time in prison and jail be more like what he thought Manning deserved.
              2.     On this day in 1989 the CCP ordered the PLA to move into Tiananmen Square to remove protestors who had been there for 8 weeks/Proving by the killing of a 1000 or so it was futile to from the CCP any democratic reforms and freedom seek.
              3.     On this day in 1979 a Pemex drilling platform was drilling 3600 meters beneath the sea floor when it blew/And each day the amount of oil leaking grew/It took 9 months to stop the ultimate 3 million barrels oil spill/The only silver lining was that the Ridley Kemp Turtles were airlifted from their nesting sites before the oil coming their way would kill.
              4.      On this day in 1943 white American sailors and Marines in Los Angeles started attacking Latino teens and young men wearing Zoot suits/With 5 days of attacks and almost 200 injuries the idea we were a land of racial tolerance the riots did refute/The only good coming out of this racial mess/Is that no one ended up in a morgue in funeral suit dress.
              5.      On this day in 1781 in a little known fact/Jack Jouett at night began his 40 mile ride to warn Thomas Jefferson and Virginia legislators of Tarleton’s impending attack/Tarleton was feared for his Tarleton’s quarter/Where those surrendering would see their life soon shorter/But for Jouett, Jefferson’s life that night could have come to an end/And one of our greatest presidents would not be there to the Northwest Lewis and Clark send.                 Famous Quotes: The Charleston Daily Progress  October 26, 1909 Praising Jack Jouett:

“Hearken good people: awhile abide
And hear of stout Jack Jouett’s ride;
How he rushed his steed, nor stopped nor stayed
Till he warned the people of Tarleton's raid.

The moment his warning note was rehearsed
The State Assembly was quickly dispersed.
In their haste to escape, they did not stop
Until they had crossed the mountain top.
And upon the other side come down.
To resume their sessions in Staunton Town.

His parting steed he spurred,
In haste to carry the warning
To that greatest statesman of any age,
The Immortal Monticello Sage.

Here goes to thee, Jack Jouett!
Lord keep thy memory green;
You made the greatest ride, sir,
That ever yet was seen.
