Roe v. Wade recognized a fundamental right of a pregnant
woman to decide whether she should abort or have the fetus born
But in the emotional hysteria of the left over a fundamental
right being shorn
Roe v. Wade the right of a state to ban abortion of a viable fetus who could
leave the womb and still survive
Unless abortion was needed to allow an abortion to allow the
mother to remain alive
Doctors generally believe a fetus after 23-24 weeks is viable if placed in an
ICU
With a survival rate of near 50% after making his or her premature
debut
But a higher risk of adverse health conditions and a huge ICU
expense
But a state now under Dobbs could legislate a total ban
which makes little sense
And likewise a likewise a law allowing abortion after
viability or in the third trimester reeks of nonsense
If Reds back abortion bans when the fetus in no way viable
the outrage against them will be immense
Abortion for many voters trumps any other issues or concerns
If with their ad money the Blues can sell the idea Reds will all abortions the
Red Wave will crash and burn
