Alaska Airlines Merger With Hawaiian Airlines Merger Hurdle at DOJ Cleared Now Off to DOT

 

The Eskimo on the jet’s tail may so be wearing a lei
And the Hawaiian beauty with an orchid may have on a fur parka to display
A proposed merger of Alaska Airlines and Hawaii Airlines has been approved by the DOJ
Despite fears that higher ticket prices and less choice would be coming passengers’ way
The proposed merger now flies to the DOT hoping it will permit the merger to land
Consumers should not be jumping for joy as the lure of higher prices the merged entity will be hard to withstand
Flying unless one can afford business or first class
Is a sardine in a can torture that for the duration of the flight lasts
If longer than 400 miles we have no choice of bullet trains on which to rely
Too often crammed in middle seats or next to a wailing infant’s cries
Disrupted too often by passengers in reacting violent rage
Against flight attendants or fellow passengers attacks wage
If the DOT
Approval of the merger agrees
Consumers are hoping the proposed merger heads to a federal court
Where a judge like the case of Spirit and JetBlue merger will it abort
