On the illegal alien front at the
Roosevelt Hotel which has become ground zero for NYC’s efforts to deal with the
tide of illegal aliens, AOC and some of her fellow leftist Blues came to see
for themselves the issue of illegal aliens effect on NYC to be drowned out by
angry residents, probably responding to Mayor Adams call that illegal alien
migration will destroy the city, demanding the border be closed and benefits
for citizens not illegals. The disastrous effects of sanctuary cities and an
open border are coming home to roost and the Blues are rapidly in the voters’
bullseye come 2024.
On the EV cart before the horse
front, Jennifer Granholm is in the hot seat for actions of her staff during her
highly touted EV 4 day trip disaster which highlighted the lack of fast
chargers when to insure availability they parked gas powered cars to block
access so she would not have to wait to charge (so typical of the D.C.
mentality of rules you need to follow but not I). This arrogant secretary is
also under potential impeachment threats for lying to Congress about her stock
investments and their dispositions.
On the labor relations front, for
the first time in the UAW’s 88 year history it is striking all 3 of the big
time auto manufacturers simultaneously, with some 13,000 walking off their
assembly plants as early estimates of the economic damage a strike will cause
are coming in at $5.6 billion for a strike of only 10 days. The UAW is
selectively targeting assembly plants to avoid exhausting its $825 million
strike benefits fund that would support an 11 week walkout by 146,000 UAW
workers. Biden chimed in on the strike revealing his thoughts that the Big 3
automakers need to share their record profits with their workers.
On the Weaponization of the DOJ
front, Jim Jordan has requested as a first step before issuing a subpoena if
there is no compliance that the DOJ appear to justify its lawsuit against
SpaceX for discriminating against asylum seekers and migrants and hiring only
citizens and green card holders and its inaction in not proceeding against the
Governor of New Mexico for her emergency public health order banning guns in
public places.
On the inflation front a French
supermarket chain has a novel idea to pressure suppliers from increasing prices
by putting shrinkinflation warnings out that the even though the price on
certain goods have remained the same, the quantity has been reduced—an idea
that supermarkets should ape as Bideneconomics is not reducing the effective
cost only the package size.
