The residents of Oakland are paying a heavy price they
cannot afford
To have as D.A. Pamela Price and her “restorative justice”
on board
Residents are sick and tired of the loss of safety and
property
When the thugs are caught they are too quickly released to run free
Restorative justice has lofty sounding ideals
That the victim, thug and community sing “Cum Bi Ya” is
unreal
Restorative justice should mean when you commit the crime
You are not paroled or plead down, you serve the time
Whether in jail or prison useful job skills the system
offers to teach
And on release after time serving, meaningful attempts to
secure employment outreach
But as expected D.A. Price turns to the critics of crime a deaf
ear
Complaints of being “soft on crime” no discussion only such
claims she will not hear
Instead like a Pavlovian dog her knee jerk reflex is to toss
at the complaint the “Racist card”
Denigrating valid fears and concerns as “Racist” shows why
dealing with Blues seeking solutions is so very hard.
