March 17, 2022 Ridley's Believe It or Not St. Patrick's Day

RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT March 17, 2022

CV World Cases: The planet continues with cases still increasing but the increase slowing down with cases now passing 465 million at 465,249,765 cases,  61,960,501 of which are active, 403,289,464 closed with 397,205,161 recoveries (98.49%), and crossing the 6,000,000 barrier 6,084,103 deaths (1.51% )to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now passing 81 million at 81,292,281 with 23,665,751 active cases  of which 3584 are serious or critical, (15,517 on 12/12) (back to steady decreases despite the increase in active cases due to the relative mildness of the Omicron variant) to .0151% of active cases (back to back steady decreases despite the increase in active cases due to the relative mildness of the Omicron variant  and to increase  the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 25,687 with 57,626,530 closures with 994,811 deaths (1.73%) and with 56,631,719  recoveries (98.27%). Our death rate percentage is .22%  higher than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady but slowing climb to 2976 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (6270) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting; Bulgaria (5281), Hungary (4668), Romania (3396),  Brazil (3049), and Poland (3017) and slightly higher than Argentina (2774), Columbia (2690), Belgium (2612), Italy (2611), Russia (2486), Mexico (2451), UK (2385), Chile (2281), Spain (2168), France (2146), Portugal (2098), Ecuador (1953),  Bolivia (1798),  Sweden (1760) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1534).
US Vaccinations: As of 03/16/22   557.5 million doses, 230,777 per day last week ( 76.0%) of population now vaccinated  with at least one shot)  and in California 34,895 per day  (which means at least 82.2% of the population of California has received at least one shot) which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 72,163,799 total doses have been given (83.3%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.2%), California is still stuck at 12th tied with Nevada of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 70.8% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 64.6% and has not moved from 11th   in terms of the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states (nothing like a recall election to get Newsom’s attention and performance).
Non  CV News: Biden in passing in response to a question has affirmed that he believes Putin is a war criminal and Russia’s continued bombing of medical facilities and civilian shelters and residences certainly shows he is doing a great bloody job playing the part while over 3.5 million refugees have fled Ukraine; as more and more large corporations move to pull out of Russia cease doing business (Nestle is the last to reap scorn and condemnation for still doing business in Russia) when do we lay the gauntlet of choice to China—you can do business with us or with Russia but if you do business with Russia and buy its oil business here will be curtailed; the fog of war on Russia’s advances in Ukraine makes it difficult to know the truth but signs are the Russians are stalled and taking casualties which would really increase if Biden signed on to the Polish Mig-29 aid to Ukraine; Putin’s demands to end the Ukraine war evidently include a pledge to not join NATO; disarmament program, deNazification of Ukraine and protection of the Russian language (the civilized world could spend a lot of time in Ukraine and not find a single Nazi—total crock by the world’s latest war criminal); Biden’s SCOTUS nominee evidently has some baggage in her past support of the racist Project 1619 the PC deculture warriors are pushing; after pushing the false narrative that the Hunter Biden laptop was a false Russian attempt to aid in reelecting President Trump, the once decent rag has admitted the laptop was not a plant (sadly no mulligans even on St. Patrick’s to be able to revote); transgender Lia Thomas has made a mockery of women’s sports winning the “women’s” 500 meter free style; in the White House briefing for 30 Tik Tok “influencers” the White House screened the questions in  advance; Leggo has announced a Zelenskyy figure and a Molotov Cocktail to raise money for the war torn nation; London Breed, the mayor of Feces City which is suffering from a crime wave and worse a leftist D.A. who seems reluctant to prosecute criminals or at least keep them off the streets while their trials are pending, has dismissed the crime as “right wing media noise”; sadly once again the sports world is not exempt from the wrath of the PC warriors in the form of PETA zealots that are demanding the term “horse collar” to describe an above the shoulders tackle from behind be dropped; in the Last Great Race on Earth, the Iditarod, 9 more mushers have crossed the finish line in Nome bring the total to 27 with the leading female rookie Hanna Lyrek coming in at 19th beating out Paige Droby  by a little over a minute in 20th as the last musher to share in the purse and the leading male rookie Martin Massicotte in 21st relegated like all other who finish to $1049 prize money and three more mushers in Safety who will cross the finish line shortly, leaving 13 still on the course the closest being out of White Mountain (77 miles from Nome and enjoying a balmy 27 º ) and the furthest out of Shaktoolik (221 miles from Nome).     The husband and wife duo Jeff Deeter (36) and Katti Jo Deeter (39) 5 minutes apart are both out of Elim and Leslie Nesbitt has dropped out to be replaced by another woman Apayaug Reitan from Norway to be the leader in the race for the Red Lantern (more updates tomorrow); Blues are still resisting despite soaring fuel prices demands that domestic oil and gas production increase, leading the political cartoonist to suggest they are Putin puppets:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through March 16;  2022, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 519 shot of whom 103 have died.

Submarine Day—commemorating this day in 1898 when Phillip Holland demonstrated to the U.S. Navy the abilities of the Holland VI, a diesel submarine with electric motors for running when submerged which stayed submerged for an hour and 40 minutes.
              3.
1983  Number 1 Song—the number 1 song in 1983  on this day was  “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson on a run in that position for 7 weeks noncontinuous  to join 16 other number 1 songs and while 9 acts  hit the charts at Number 1 for the first time. Here is a video recording of Michael Jackson performing “Billie Jean”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi_XLOBDo_Y Jackson was known as the “King of Pop” and sold some 400 million records before dying from an overdose on June 25, 2009, less than three weeks before the first This Is It show was due to begin in London, with all concerts sold out,  of  propofol and benzodiazepine administered by his personal physician Conrad Murray to help him sleep at his rented mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. Paramedics were called and arrived with 3 minutes to start CPR but were not successful and he died.

              4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “spheterize” which means to appropriate which our expanding government loves to do when it comes to your assets and income.
             5.
Storm on the Horizon—celebrating the birth on this day in 1978/79 of Stephanie Gregory Clifford better known as her professional porn star stage name of Stormy Daniels who became a household name arising out an alleged affair with Donald Trump which he vehemently denied which also brought to our attention her attorney Michael Avenatti who became a regular MSM guest slamming Trump and even touted as presidential material. Not sure where Stormy is these days but Avenatti is a disbarred attorney and convicted felon currently in prison.
             On this day in:
              a. 1960 President Eisenhower signed the National Security Directive authorizing covert actions against Cuba after  its government had be overthrown and seized by Castro which lead to the disaster of the Bay of Pigs Invasion.
              b. 1966 the DSV Alvin recovered off the coast of Palomares, Spain the 4th hydrogen bomb that fell intact into the sea following a mid air collision by a B-52 with a K-135 tanker during refueling on January 17, 1966 that resulted in the other 3 falling onto land as the B-52 broke up and crashed. Fortunately, none of the bombs were armed and did not detonate.
              c. 1968 as a result of testing nerve gas near Skull Valley, Utah, 6000 sheep were found, an event that was memorialized in Rage a movie starring George C. Scott about a father and son camping who are exposed to nerve gas while camping who both die but not before Scott attacks the company that made the nerve gas and dies attacking the Air Force base where it came from.
              d. 1985 serial killer Richard Ramirez who became feared as the “Night Stalker” committed in Los Angeles his first 2 of 13 murders; was fortunately caught to end his crime spree of murders, attempted murders, rape and burglary on August 31, 1985 by an angry group of 10 residents who after his two failed carjacking attempts in their neighborhood tackled him, forced him to the ground and beat him until the police arrived. Sentenced to death  on September 20, 1989 he was rotting on death row when he cheated execution by dying of B-cell lymphoma on June 7, 2013.
              e. 1992 in a better late than never a referendum to end apartheid in South Africa passed 68.7% to 31.2%.

Reflections on Bay of Pigs Invasion: “So the reason that the Bay of Pigs failed was that the original promise made by Eisenhower was not kept by the subsequent Administration. It allowed hostile air to wipe out the approaching invasion force.” E. Howard Hunt, C.I.A. operative for 21 years involved in the coup d’etat in Guatemala and the Bay of Pigs Invasion who served 33 months in prison for his role in Watergate and the coverup.
