In the 50’s and 60’s going to see a Western Movie was a
favorite way to spend a Saturday
Awed in disbelief as a runaway stagecoach allowed the star
or his stunt rider double to his riding skill display
Racing after the horses pulling the stagecoach at runaway
speed
Who the screams of the terrified passengers did not heed
Then managing to pull alongside the leading horse
To leap from his mount onto the leading horse’s back,
pulling the reins to apply a braking force
The stagecoach just feet from a cliff’s edge would come to a
rest
A hero for the sure death of the passengers his bravery
would arrest
On Lake Winnipesaukee in New
Hampshire the other day
We witnessed the marine equivalent of an out of control
stagecoach doing donuts in the bay
After its captain had been knocked overboard with kids in a
sailing class in harm’s way
Seeing the danger from their beach side porch Brady’s dad
jumped in this boat to move the sailing kids away
As the 17 year old jumped on his jet ski to try the speeding
boat stop
Trying to standup in his jet ski and jumping as it veered off
a great way to be sliced by the boat’s prop
A neighbor seeing the danger on a jet ski joined the scene
Brady climbed onto its back seat to be a rescue team
Aping the donut turns of the speeding boat they came within
a few feet
For Brady to perform his jumping onto the donuting boat dangerous feat
Grabbing its throttle and shutting it down
Earning the praise and hero status from the residents and
boaters in this lakeside town
