The once proud and vibrant PAC 12 shedding team weights like
an athletic Jenny Craig
In 2024 unless the pigskin rabbit is pulled out of the hat
we in the athletic dregs
USC and UCLA announcing their leaving effective 2024
That other teams would soon follow should have been foreseen
Should have been the “All Hands On Deck Klaxon Call” not ignored
In football it will be the Pac 4 with only 4 teams
With two losing seasons the Cardinal ink color was also red
To continue the plethora of sports invading the endowment or
teams shed
4 teams will not a Conference Make
TV networks and rankers would quickly forsake
Since California is in the forefront of being green
A conference where from long carbon spewing jets are weaned
Sac State, San Jose State, Fresno State, San Diego State and
Cal Poly at SLO
The Cal Magnificent 7 never too much carbon to an away game
go
And maybe a young member of the Cal University System with
wealthy alums up the wazoo
UC Irvine in a conference might want to form a football team and join in too
Cal Tech has too many nerds
Has a team but no thundering herds
Far better idea than begging to join the ACC
And having to wait 10 years for a share of TV revenue to see
And being known as the sleep deprived jet lagged doormats
Whose chance to regain football fame would be near squat.
