The fire news out of Maui keeps getter grimmer with the fires 85% contained with fire crews fighting flareups in Lahaina, Pulehu, and upcountry Maui after having destroyed or damaged 5,000 structures and killing 80 as the death toll continues to rise as searchers are now starting to search structures as hundreds are still missing. In an example of the economic damage the island faces some 14,000 tourists and their $300+ a day expenditures have left the island. Still no determination of the fire’s cause but if the Camp Fire that destroyed the town of Paradise after having been started by a tree that knocked down a PG&E transmission line, good chance in the high winds from Cyclone Dora hitting the island the same thing happened here which means Hawaii Electric may be in a world of potential hurt. Hawaii’s vaunted 400 plus sirens in the islands to warn of natural disasters failed as most people if they received any warning, other than the smell of smoke or the sound of the fires with no time to pack only to flee, it was by text messages which became problematic as cell towers went up in flames. While Jim Jordan and James Comer are methodically building a case for impeachment against Biden, Congressman Greg Steube has filed Articles of Impeachment against Biden for abuse of power, obstruction of justice and as icing on the cake paying for Hunter’s illegal purchases of drugs and prostitutes (may be jumping the gun but with Garland’s appointment of special counsel David Weiss, who is supposed to not be employed by the government which he is and faces scathing criticism for his biased oversight of the “investigation” of Hunter Biden and the sweetheart deal so sweet it was rejected by a judge, would enable the DOJ under the myth of a continuing investigation to circumvent House investigation which circumvention an impeachment inquiry would trump). Most of us suspect Biden’s oft reported confrontation with Corn Pop was a total fabricated myth but news today is that Scott Brown during his being sworn in as Senator to fill the seat vacated by the death of Ted Kennedy told VP Biden to stop groping his wife or he would beat the “S**t out of him” that seems much more credible. Armed with Fauci’s own emails to the contrary, Senator Rand Paul has filed a criminal referral with the DOJ that Dr. Fauci committed perjury in testifying on the government not funding gain-of-function research. Kevin Ford, a cook and cashier for Burger King for 27 years never missed a day of work has retired, bolstered by a GoFundMe Account from patrons who thought the company did not appropriately acknowledge his accomplishment and raised $400,000 to retire on. In a father like son moment Kurt Warner who was undrafted but went on to have a Hall of Fame career and played his last game against the Steelers will watch his undrafted son Kade, a walk on with Kansas State play his first game against the Steelers in preseason today as a wide receivers as a member of the Buccaneers. David Bogner, the founder of the startup Bogner, was flying to La Guardia from with his Great Dane Darwin, aged 5, who does not like flying as cargo so he bought a row of 3 seats, 1 for him and 2 for Darwin.

August 12 Birthdays: “Half the day he engages in the most ruthless financial
exploitations, ruining the lives of hundreds of thousands, even millions. The
other half [of the day] he just gives part of it back.” Slavoj Žižek, The Reality of the Virtual: Celebrating
if you are a liberal or bemoaning if you are a conservative the birth on this
day in 1930 in Budapest of George Soros whose has made billions from his
investments and even after having given away massive amounts still has a net
worth of close to $7 billion. Appears he is stepping down but rumor has it his
son taking over is even more leftist than he is.
