The Trump indictment
is sucking up all the oxygen in the room with other news items going to the end
of the line but here is one that should start ringing the warning chimes as
Fitch the premier government bond rating service has lower the credit rating of
the United States from AAA to AA+ which will mean higher borrowing costs for
consumers and the federal government. The lower rate was due to the billions of
dollars of new spending authorized by the CHIPS Act and the misnamed Inflation
Reduction Act. The Biden Administration immediately pushed back claiming out
dated data and in a reflexive action blamed Trump for the downgrade. Pundits
like Johnathan Turley, Alan Dershowitz and Andrew McCarthy who contribute to
Fox News are claiming the indictment is flawed while noted liberal professor
Lawrence Tribe are claiming the indictment represents an ironclad case. Several
things are certain, one Trump is going to be severely challenged in trying to campaign
and deal with the charges; secondly, Republican candidates other than Pence who
took notes of his conversations with Trump and seems to have created a high
road for himself claiming he stands with the Constitution are going to have to
walk a thin line in how they address the indictments while still adhering to
their mantra the DOJ has been weaponized and politicized by Biden; thirdly
Smith although he did not charge Trump with “conspiracy for incitement” or “seditious
conspiracy” he will put the riot front and center before the jurors to dismiss
the free speech arguments raised by the defense. Biden who once piously railed
against the pervasive ways of “dark money” has been caught with his hypocrisy
pants down as his super PAC Future Forward has some $50 million in “dark money”
contributions. The Biden Administration is being slammed for its interpretation
of a bipartisan bill by the bill’s cosponsors to ban federal funding to any
school that has archery or hunter safety programs. To put a face on the idiocy
of “Defund the Police” while cities are in the midst of crime waves, a Doctor Mary
Costantino was attacked while walking in Portland with a friend by a homeless person, knocked unconscious, no
police response to her 911 call for 20 minutes and disgusted walked home with a
friend

player who now will be playing for the Boston Celtics was born on this day in
1995 in Liepāja, Latvia. He will be a welcome addition to a team that in the NBA
finals was down 3-0 to the Miami Heat to avoid elimination in Game 6 with a few
tenths of a second left tip in only to be wiped out in Game 7. He will not be
able to wear his number 6 as that number was Bill Russel’s number which
has been retired.

Famous Quote on the Invasion
of Kuwait by P.J. O’Rourke, noted political satirist and journalist: “Iraq's invasion of Kuwait is a case of
bad men doing wrong things for wicked reasons. This is the full-sized or
standard purebred evil and is easily recognized even by moral neophytes. Other
malignities-drugs in America, famine in Africa and everything in the Middle
East-are more complex. When combating those evils people sometimes have trouble
deciding whom to shoot.”
