All
of us have mothers and today is their day
When
children and spouses with great affection display
Gifts
of flowers, candies, dinners, jewelry and all manner of delight
So
precious that a mother’s love would make any suffering or pain alright
Today
with America mostly still in shutdown mode
The
gifts from retail are hard to in the car pack and then unload
The
restaurants are closed with only take out signs
Can
this be a day from honoring a mother to resign?
No
a mother’s love is absolute and not dependent on gifts
The
pandemic closing of stores and restaurants should not cause our love for her to
drift
Flowers
wilt, dinners fade, jewelry in a drawer stays
But
a daily call of love never goes away
To
mothers on this day where a virus seeks to intrude
Gifts are nice but not needed to prove our love for
you mood
