WAPO Wants to Abolish Electoral College Make U.S. the United States of the Populous Coastal Elites

 

It’s bad enough to live in California and live in a one party Banana Republic State
Now the leftist WAPO wants the heartland of the nation to suffer the same fate
The electoral college was the compromise in a republic to some independence of the smaller states preserve
After 244 years this leftist rag believes such protection minorities no long deserve
Abolish the Electoral College and a handful of states will rule and dominate
In a small state the voters will never see a presidential candidate
Barring some miracle we will see in the Oval Office to the left always move
The smaller heartland states’ wishes from the Oval Office will never be approved
The states which are the laboratories of the nation possessing the reserved rights
Will fade away into federal pawns, wilting under a growing remote federal might
It is called the United States not the United States of the Populous Coastal Elites
This is an idea that belongs in the trash and should go down to defeat
