October 3, 2023 Ridley's Believe It Or Not

On the Republican Lemming over the cliff front, Gaetz has filed his motion to remove the Speaker’s Gavel from McCarthy’s hands and after failing to table the motion it was passed by 8 Red lemmings joining all Blues in voting for it. Assuming the Reds can get their act together and rally around a new Speaker, he or she will be under a short leash held by the Gang of 8. This charade with the voters will not play well in November, convincing them that Reds make a good opposition party but seem to be incapable of governing and responding to the needs of the people.
On the urban city crime front, Henry Cuellar a Blue from Texas who has sounded the alarm on the wave of illegal immigrants was the victim of an armed carjacking in the Navy Yard district of Washington, D.C. Fortunately he was not injured and his car quickly found abandoned but the event should be a wakeup call to anyone living in a wealthy neighborhood or who is without armed security or not packing, that everyone in our urban areas are potential victims of criminals.
On the good news front, Charlotte Sena has been rescued from the trailer of 47 year old Craig Nelson Ross who abducted her and fortunately was too dumb to wear gloves when he wrote the ransom note he dropped into her parent’s mailbox which enabled police to pull fingerprints and match them to those of a person convicted of a DWI in 1999 and 4 hours later she was rescued and Ross was in custody.
On the plastic surgery front the plastic surgeons who performed a “butt lift” on 33 year old star of Wild ‘N Out who died the next day must be sighing in relief as the police have ruled her death as accidental but they may be counting their chickens too soon as a wrongful death suit may be in the cards.
On the constipation front the nation is coping with a growing shortage of laxatives to treat constipation while and the same time physicians are warning of laxative abuse. Time for Americans to increase their intake of fiber which is nature’s way of alleviating constipation.
On the Trump legal front Trump’s civil trial for overstating values in obtaining bank loans is in day 2 with Trump giving the photographers the “thumbs up” as he entered the court room but being hit by a gag order after he posted a photo of Judge Eragon’s clerk with Chuck Schumer at an event banning any disparaging remarks about his staff.
On the Biden reelection front, a member of the DNC is reported to have said in private that Biden is too to run for reelection and should withdraw. More liberal columnists are paraphrasing  German General Ludendorff’s comment of allied with Austria Hungary is like being “shackled to a corpse” urging him to dump Kamala Harris as his VP and replace her with the likes of someone like Gretchen Whitmer or Tammy Duckworth as Reds will tout “a vote for Biden is really a vote for Harris.”
On the presidential front look the tension continues to grow to see if RFK, Jr. will announce his third party candidacy which would be sweet revenge for the DNC that moved Hell and high water to sabotage his campaign against Biden and almost certainly insure a Red win in 2024.

Word of the Day: The word of the day as we end the word of the day starting with “a” to move to words starting with “b” “bail”  which in this case is not the cash or bond one posts to get out of jail while awaiting trial which is disappearing in more jurisdictions as a means to have more equitable justice for the accused but not the victims of crimes committed while the accused is awaiting trial but the barrier or pole separating horses in an open stable.
Song of the Day: The number 1 song on this day in 1973 was “We’re an American Band” by Grand Funk on  a run of 1 week to share number 1 status with 26 other songs achieving number 1 ranking while 25 acts, including Grand Funk and Jim Croce who was the third artist to achieve that status posthumously, achieved number one status for the first time.  Here is a recording  of Grand Funk  performing  “We’re an American Band”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxNXFNCTr2I

Please don't let this make you lose faith in our systemafter verdict of not guilty was read by the jury.”
It felt horrible. It was physically painful. That was not justice. And I thought of Ron [Goldman] and Nicole [Brown Simpson], and I thought, this is wrong. It's so wrong.20 years later in an interview with Dateline.
“At the end of the day, there was no way to reach that jury. There was no way to make them believe. There really wasn't. Same Dateline interview.
“ If that lost the case for us, we were never going to win anyway.Dateline on Chris Darden allowing the “the glove doesn’t fit demonstration
