George, a Maltese, and Two Foxes Next to a Starbucks on a Sunny Afternoon in Costa Mesa

We as humans may not be totally unique
But often among the animals only  we discourse seek
Blessed with the ability to form ideas and speak
As opposed to parrots who can only ape and repeat
Entering the new cathedral of the searching souls
Before crossing the Starbucks door I saw a Maltese and two foxes on my stroll
Now Orange County is the land of the reserved
And a stranger approaching two beautiful women only a rejection is deserved
But this poet without a Malamute that should be his signature dog
Once owned a Maltese named Cecil quickly spoken of my dog owner log
A Maltese is without doubt when it comes to companionship the most impressive breed
Man or woman, child or senior aging is what these humans will need
Long and short a former Maltese owner with George quickly were as one
Until needing coffee and soon to watching the setting sun
This poet received a parting maybe now Cecil Maltese lick
The interface and discourse is what makes this country tick
