Exchange Food And Go To Detention At Trinity Alps

Our public schools continue to fail in their mission of educating our kids
But common sense in the classroom and cafeteria they excel in trying to rid
Trinity Alps Unified wins the next foolishness par excellence award
Banning sharing meals from its cafeteria and defended by its School Board

Another day, another school district policy to give us dismay
A 13 year old is sent to detention for his kindness display
Sharing his lunch with another student who lost on and got a burrito of cheese
Trinity Alps Unified School District’s policy his act did displease
Barnett the Superintendent made this excuse to the act justify
“Because of liability and safety” an exchange of meals they had to deny
Since when does a school have to fear that a lawsuit is lurking and very near
If students exchange meals, engage in barter or trade for something they hold dear
Sad, sad day when schools who by in large are failing in their attempts to educate
Get bogged down in discipline in preventing the movement of food to another student’s plate
