ASU has to its dismay discovered that attempts to censor
conservative free speech
A financial lesson adverse consequences the censorship efforts will teach
Tom Lewis as real estate mogul who has donated millions to ASU over decades
And has funded a development center in his name was outraged
over faculty attempts to conservative speakers blockade
The director of his development center in the Barrett Honors
College had organized a speaking event
Of three noted speakers Dennis Prager, Charlie Kirk, and Robert Kiyosaki to the
campus to be sent
27 faculty members of Barrett signed a petition demanding that these “purveyors
of hate”
Be denied admission to appear and speak, locked out from entering
the auditorium’s gate
The event was held and to many of those attending’s surprise
The violence on college campuses that erupt on conservative
speakers did not arise
The director after the event for having the temerity of
arranging it was soon fired
Lewis’ patience for the war on free speech on college
campuses must have then expired
His $400,000 planned donation he pulled back
A vivid lesson when colleges praise free speech but in reality with
conservative speech they will it thwack
