Manson family members who participated in the Tate-La Bianca
murders had their death sentences commuted to life in prison
For many years after their crimes at parole board hearings hope for release had arisen
Parole granted by the Parole Board but Governor Brown then Newsom appealed to
say no
And back to their prison cells until the next parole hearing they would go
Leslie Van Houten had played the Parole Board roulette many
times
Either denied or appealed by a governor wanting her to remain in prison for her
crimes
Finally Newsom who must feel immune from the voters after
defeating the recall
Decided the Parole Board decision granting parole to Houten
he would not appeal to stall
After over 50 years it is believed in 5 days she will walk
out of prison walk free
Leaving only 2 “Helter Skelter” Manson Family members left
in prison to see
