Trump took the stage in Iowa at the GOP Lincoln Dinner event
To a cheering crowd with music lyrics that chills to him must have sent
“Only in America” a song by Brooks and Dunn
That should cast a shadow of doubt over his election run
“One kid dreams of fame and fortune
One kid helps pay the rent
One could end up going to prison
One just might be president”
In a boast of
bravado or ego that trumps reality
Trump has made a vow he would campaign from prison if prison is his trial’s
decree
It’s bad enough
we have to endure a president who is not mentally all there
Whose cognitive cupboard of functioning neurons is almost bare
Who in their
right mind would vote for a candidate under a potential cloud
Of taking
office under a possible conviction and prison shroud
Brooks and Dunn
for “Only in America” to the recording studio must be again sent
To revise a lyric lines to “One could end up going to prison/The same one who
was president”
