Blues and transgender activists are quick to euphemistically
call it gender reassignment care
While Reds when applied to minors condemn it as body
mutilation that parents need to beware
In Louisiana with the legislature in control of the Reds but
the governor a Blue
A bill banning puberty blockers, hormone treatment and gender reassignment
surgery for minors sailed through
Edwards vetoed it and the House overrode his veto to send to the Senate the bill
Where Reds need 26 out their 27 members to the veto kill
The Blues did garner a victory in the transgender wars
HB 81 which would require the use of birth pronouns failed
to override by 3 votes to go to Senate floor
We should have empathy for males trapped in a female body
and the same in reverse
But for minors more time to consider whether the need to reassign gender is a
fad not a lifetime curse
But this is a battle that’s ripping the sports world apart
And causing great fear or concern in school bathrooms those sensitive and weak
of heart
