For many years following the edicts of Walt Disney the “Happiest
Place on Earth”
When it came to beverages it was the “Driest Place” with alcoholic drinks a
total dearth
Walt thought that serving alcohol would attract a more riff raff crowd
Save in Club 33, a private club not open the public, alcohol was not allowed
Patrons in Club 33 could dine on fine cuisine and fine wines
Then with a proper buzz exit near the Pirates of the Caribbean to see the kids
with mouse ears waiting in line
Times have since changed as in 1999 when Oga’s Cantina
starting serving as Star War’s :Galaxy Earth
Ended the alcohol for the public not private club members
dearth
On the theory than alcohol was effective in fighting COVID-19
Alcohol was added in 2021 at the Blue Bayou as part of the New Orleans Square
scene
On September 12 three more restaurants in Frontierland, Main
Street, U.S.A and New Orleans Square
Will have added alcoholic beverages to complement their dining fare
Cafe Orleans, River Belle Terrace and Carnation Café
Will all have on their menu alcoholic beverages to display
So far no bars or taverns to cause Walt to roll in his grave
Just another example of the need for more sources of revenue not to waive
