Thanks to His Vest Dunlap Shoot in the Chest By a 44 Is Alive Today and Thanks to Body Cam Is Free of Any Charges for Shooting and Killing the Thug Who Shot Him

Not an American Express Card but a Kevlar vest that fits
North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper Jeffrey L. Dunlap  who had stopped to assist a stranded motorist
Wesley Scott Taylor was a car thief who was ready to resist
Pulled out a 44 Magnum and at a range of less than 4 feet shot Dunlap in the chest
Before the bullet could penetrate the skin it was subject to  successful Kevlar arrest
Despite a huge bruise Dunlap was able to draw his service arm and shoot back
Fortunately Taylor died at the scene because a like vest he lacked
And thanks to the body cam that showed Taylor pointing and shooting his 44 from less than 4 feet
Any charges against Trooper Dunlap went down to a quick defeat
God help our men in blue and green if the felons packing learn to shoot for the head
Far too many of our finest protect and serve at routine traffic stops may in the future end up dead
