Our neighbor to the North celebrates
Canada Day
Not with candles on its birthday cake
but with tariffs to our exports slay
Our neighbor to the South is voting
for a new president
A leftist who is leading and
announced migrants passing through will not back to Central America be sent
Trade deficits in the billions with
Trump trying to make it right
As North America girds for a brutal
trade fight
The EU is caught up in the growing
trade brawl
Imposing tariffs to American imports
hinder and stall
The big gorilla in the room is the
Chinese
That has been stealing oujr IP like a
nectar sucking swarm of bees
Surrounding its companies by a Great Wall of currency manipulation and tariffs
While the WTO has proven to be an
asleep at the switch sheriff
Enter the master of the art of the deal
Vowing to pursue reciprocal trade
with fervent zeal
Time will tell who if any of our traders
will blink
Or whether this trading tit for tat
will put economies in a world of red ink
The nervous nellies in the Senate
are discussing curbs on Trump’s ability to cut trade deals
One thing is certain if we do not close
the trade piggy bank, our wealth our trading
partners will continue to steal/
