Southern California Hit By Heat Wave

Southern California is being assaulted by a heat wave of over 100 degrees
Further drying out the brush and trees
Further increasing the wildfire danger exponentially
Sweating and perspiring so uncomfortable to think rationally
117 on the thermometer at one o’clock in Woodland Hills
91 in Newport Beach as we miss the June Swoon chills
With Catalina Eddie blanketing with clouds and fog the beach
Only now a memory as we check the forecasts on how high the temperature will reach
A perfect day to take in a movie or a museum and breathe in the air-conditioned air
Or a dip in the ocean or floating in a pool in a floating chair
On days like this maybe the arguments for climate change were correct
May be time for the arguments against climate change to reject
