Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 12, 2018 Great drama on
the Hill as Strzok was being grilled by Congress over his anti-Trump text
messages with his paramour Lisa Page (mind boggling that the IG came to a conclusion
of no bias in the investigation by the FBI); Trump after castigating NATO for
not paying its fair share for defense landed in the U.K. to meet with the Prime
Minister May who is under severe attack over her handling of the Brexit exit
from the EU; feudalism is still alive and well in Iran as a video is released
showing a man being flogged for drinking alcohol as a teen at a wedding reception
while in Indonesia two Christians were flogged for gambling which violates
Sharia; Ben Carson is moving ahead on implementing a requirement that able
bodied recipients of federal subsidized housing work; still reeling from the
sexual abuse scandal involving the U.S. Olympics Gymnastic Team Sarah Hirshland
has been named as the CEO of the U.S. Olympic Association; charges against
aging porn star Stormy Daniels for illegally touching patrons at a strip club
in Ohio have been dropped; in Chicago, through July 11, 2018, 1485 people
mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 236 have died
(when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true
racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of
people of color by people of color?).
As always,
I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Whiz

birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can

3. 2015 Number One Song— the number one song in 2015 on a run of 12 weeks in that
position was “See You Again” by Whiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth. Here
is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgKAFK5djSk
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “mesial” which means middle which is
a place we desperately need politicians to gravitate to in order to ease the
gridlock in the Swamp.
5. Tarnished Star—celebrating the birth on this day in 1937 of Bill Cosby, noted
comedian and television star in the series I
Spy and The Bill Cosby whose star
has been tarnished by being found guilty of sexual abuse.
On this day in:
a. 1804 Alexander Hamilton died after being shot the day before
in a duel with former Vice President Aaron Burr.
b. 1862 the Medal of Honor was authorized by the U.S. Congress.
c. 1948 Israeli Premier David Ben-Gurion ordered the expulsion
of Palestinians from the towns of Lod and Ramia.
d. 1962 the Rolling Stones performed their first concert at London’s
Marque Club.
e. 1973 a fire destroyed one third of the military records at
the Military Records Center.
Reflections on
the Rolling Stones: “You have to age gracefully. And that's what I love about
Keith Richards. That's what I love about the Rolling Stones. They are aging
gracefully. They are falling apart at the seams right before our eyes, and they
are doing it gracefully. And that's the most beautiful thing that we can do.”
Nikki Sixx noted pop musician and co-founder of the band Motley Crue.
