       1. Malala Day—celebrating on her 16th birthday Malala Yousafzai’s address to the UN calling for education access for girls in Islamic countries.
      2. Simplicity Day—celebrating the birthday on this day in Henry David Thoreau who advocated simplicity in one’s life. An early advocate of the KISS principle.

       5. Not Just Peanuts—commemorating the birthday on  this day In 1864 of George Washington Carver,  noted scientist famous for developing products derived from peanuts.

       a. 1804 former Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton died after being shot the day before in a duel with Aaron Burr the Vice President of the U.S.
       b. 1948  Israeli Premier David Ben Gurion ordered the explusion of all Palestinians from Lod and Ramle.
       c. 1962 The Rolling Stones performed their first live concert at the Marquee Club in London. Could not find a video sadly.
        d. 1967 five days of riots began in Newark, New Jersey, leaving 26 dead and hundreds injured.
