Social Media Is the New Iron Curtain

 

The PC Iron Curtain has too descended onto the college scene

Free speech and exchange of ideas has long since been weaned

Social Media is the new Iron Curtain that throughout our society has chosen to descend

Conservative thought is banned or to be found such ideas need to bend

In today's world if you cannot be found on social media you cease to exist

No way can you been seen through the concealing algorithm mist

The social media tycoons before Congress through their teeth lie

Piously with straight faces blame the algorithms and censorship on their part deny

They must believe Congress is so stupid they think algorithms are by algorithms written

Or that the need to be seen with young billionaires has them totally smitten

In either case censorship of ideas left or right is a danger we must curtail

Or in our ability to preserve our democracy we most surely will fail
