This
is perhaps a Labor Day like no other we have seen
As
the fear of the CV pandemic we are trying to wean
That
has sent millions to the jobless rolls
A
further stimulus bill stalled frustrating our recovery goals
Labor
Day parades on hold due to social distancing rules
Heat
waves sending us to crowd beaches and by leaders called CV spreading fools
Unemployment
slowly edging down to near 8 percent
Our
labor force not broken but somewhat bent
What
used to be the day that political campaigns entered the race
With
ads, rallies, parades and all manner of inducements to energize their base
Has
now for campaign purposes become a day like any other
For
months prior each side with attack ads has the other side tried to smother
Basement
Biden has finally been forced to emerge from his basement
To
the battle ground states finally be sent
While
Trump by the virus has not been so confined
As
he pleads to voters that the future of the country is on the line
In
the chaos of ads and social media on the election scene
All
gloves are off as this campaign will be much more than mean
If
you are lucky enough to celebrate with family or friends
Be
assured the pandemic someday soon and the campaign sooner will end
Be
thankful for the workers and especially the farmers and fishermen
Who
created the food surplus to allow the march to prosperity from hunter gatherer
often starvation to begin.
