Islamophobia Is New PC Racist Card

What the professor stated is drowned out by videos of Somalis in Minnesota their views on camera to express
That any disrespect for or ridicule of the Prophet should be by violence repressed
In a choice between our Constitution and Sharia law, Sharia they would always choose
Ignoring that in their unforgiving theocracy the unbelievers or “infidels” will always lose
If Somalis in this country want to live under Sharia law and not assimilate
Solution is very simple leave and go back to another majority Muslim state
The professor is wrong that opposing a theocratic state
Means that opposition to it does a charge of Islamophobia rate
Christianity compared to Islam has been on this planet for 700 years more
And Judaism has been on this planet for at least 3500 years a fact Muslims too often ignore
The phobia is not with us but rather with the Muslims that have not evolved to other religions tolerate or accept
Who in their history have largely spoken with only the sword and gun instead of trying to with other faiths discept
It took Christianity over 1600 years to stop cleansing Europe and parts of Asia of Muslim and burning heretics and witches at the stake
With advances in communication, knowledge and globalization one hopes we do not have another 300 years to wait
Islamophia is not found when other religions keep waiting and demanding for the jihads against them to finally burn out
Instead of Muslims bent on converting, killing and putting Christians and Jews in total rout
As long as mullahs and imams continue to believe and demand
The killing of “infidels” including fellow Muslims, only bloodshed will plague this land
The good professor is making a huge mistake if she believes this nation against terror will be week
We may with great tolerance be slow to anger and may from time to time turn the other cheek
But when threatened by radical Islam, we will not go down like sheep
But will into the fray with no quarter and all weapons at our disposal leap

Palin as Secretary of VA No Way!

At any other federal agency the issue is only how much waste, abuse and fraud
Only thing lost will be the typical billions when leadership is inept or flawed
But at the VA something much more precious is at stake
That's why Sarah Palin would be a colossal mistake
During the Obama terms vets have been hung out to dry
Waiting for even appointments much less procedures they continue to die
While managers and employees scam the system with falsified waiting lists
Illegal bonuses to line their pockets a temptation they cannot resist
The only person that would be perfect to turnaround the VA
Who under deadlines and pressure at Salt Lake City saved the day
The Winter Olympics was a great, successful event
Without a man of Romney's business talent would have failed no matter how much money was spent
Another strike against Palin is that when it comes to business experience she has zip
Worse in her only executive job as governor after three years she quit
Maybe secretary of interior but seriously head of the VA?
With 300,000 employees entrenched, immune to change, no way!

Sharia Law in Minnesota?

If this nation of immigrants wants to avoid the fate of European nations like France
Unless we bar from immigration those who will not assimilate, we have not a chance
The OSU attack by a Somali 18 year old with knife and car
Shows that even if we could properly vet Somali adults a good case can be made to them bar
How could you ever vet a young teen
Easy targets to be radicalized to become a member of the jihadi team
Minnesota is ground zero for a dangerous Obama inspired flood of Somali refugees
800 or so a month who believe that for all of us  Sharia law is the only cup of tea
Sharia law when compared to our Constitution is completely at odds by 180 degrees
Watching young Somalis on camera so stating and as to our system of laws wanting to disagree
If you want to feel a real chill and not one caused by the Arctic winds coming down from the Canadian plains and hills
Listen to their demands that insulting the Prophet merits punishment or violence so blood will spill
Trump has it right no one should be sheltered here or be allowed to stay
Unless adherence to our Constitution and love of this nation is on display
With one foot stuck in the repressive mire of Sharia law
And the other wanting to live in a Muslim land even if here, like so many Obama delusions admitting Somalis is totally flawed
If I lived in Minnesota I would be marching in the streets, waving American flags and carrying  signs
Demanding the state abolish any aspects of Sharia law conflicting with our Constitution and any accommodation to Sharia law at work or in the schools decline

Only One Ryan Leader in the House as Pelosi Wins

The Fat Lady for the Blues in the House with  tired old notes sang today
Only one Ryan not two his fellow party members was able to sway
Nancy Pelosi at 76 years old with hair somehow not turning gray
Held Tim Ryan’s challenge to her post as Minority Leader at bay
Her fellow Blue House members even with secret ballots fearful of her vindictive wrath
Fearing being sent to House Gulag or cut adrift without oars, sails or even a raft
Voted for Pelosi by margins of more than two to one
Kudos to Tim Ryan from a rust belt state won by Trump brave enough to make a run
Pelosi since the Blues lost control of the House in 2010 is now 0 for 8
If Blues fail again in 2018 for the post she’s toast without any question or debate
The Blues are still led by tired, old men and women with too leftist ideas the voters in the heartland believe are toast
A party led by elites sipping fine Chablis, feted by celebs,  munching melted Brie and mainly found along our West and East Coast
Will be interesting theater as Trump has made a down payment to Make America Great Again by 1000 Carrier jobs to remain
The next hundred days will be starting now with the House and Senate starting on tax cuts and derailing the Obamacare train

War on Sober Living Homes in Orange County

For NIMBYs, alcoholics and addicts are the lepers of our times
And sober living homes are the Ebola hot spots that breed property value loss crime
A NIMBY concerned over property values, noise or second hand smoke
To a man or woman would want to alcoholics’ or addicts’ rights to live next door revoke
Sober living homes are not magnets for saints
But to condemn all is to with a far too wide brush paint
A home with each person therein that day sober and clean
Is a home filled with residents far more tranquil not likely to raise a scene
Following a 12 step program is a great way to approach the challenges all find at time in one’s life
That sometimes are overwhelming and seem everywhere, way too rife
Not with a needle or bottle or sadly with a gun or a knife
But with the aid of God and apologies truly meant to dampen the effects of strife
A NIMBY might scorn an alcoholic or addict as lacking will power to not pick up
Totally ignorant of the power of this disease when even with the 12 step shield the urge erupts
Crushing the walls of resistance like an incoming tide washes all sandcastles in its path
The alcoholic or addict is washed out to sea without a preserver, boat or raft
If lucky he or she may make it back to dry land
Shaking, wondering if it will be different or the future urge he will withstand
Alcoholics and addicts when not drinking or using are not citizens of the second class
Unless in the early stages of detox one would not even know if one were to walk past
Unlike the Jews under German rule, they do not wear a yellow arm band marked with an “A”
Only that there is a much higher percentage of smokers might be the clue to give them away
Or that out of habit from attending meetings on introduction only a first name would be displayed
But if using or drinking it would be hard to conceal and your reflex would be to quickly move away
In the same way we cannot drone our way out of our struggle with radical Islam
We cannot jail them into extinction when they are not threatening us with harm
Or call the nuisance police each time a butt is thrown on a sidewalk or flicked onto a lawn
But do for serious nuisances repeated again and again of those that even alcoholics would frown on
I might not want to live near a “sober” living house if many within were not sober or clean
Nor would I want to be on the road with untreated drunks coming and going in a steady stream
A car driven by a drunk is a 3000 pound deadly weapon of steel
And an addict still using is a highly focused individual who to support his habit will steal
If for liquor stores we can limit the number, concentration and proximity to residences, churches and schools
One would think that such similar reasonable regulations for sober living homes would prove to be a valid tool
But banning them outright from neighborhoods cannot be permitted
If we ever hope to have a chance to have those suffered back to sober and clean life be readmitted
A balancing act of the rights of the NIMBYs and the rights of the alcoholics and addicts in recovery
That would be easier to obtain if elected officials and NIMBYs made the “it’s a disease” discovery.

November 30, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Methamphetamine Awareness Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 30, 2016 Trump is not even president yet and already he’s making America great again, announcing Carrier had reached an agreement Trump and Pence to keep close to 1,000 jobs in Indiana as opposed to moving to Mexico; the seeds of the destruction of Obama’s cherished legacy were planted by his selection of a potential felon and a total incompetent as his two Secretaries of State which makes one wonder whether history is repeating itself with the possible consideration of Romney ( would have liked to have been at the dinner table tonight with Trump, Romney and Priebus; Obamacare’s long term nemesis Representative Price will be nominated to run DHS and his campaign finance chief Mnuchin will be nominated as Secretary of the Treasury; Chao wife of Senate Majority Leader McConnell will head up the Department of Transportation (talk about a way cement cooperation with the Senate); in another example of sanctuary city lawlessness, New York City is seriously considering erasing residence data on the municipal ID cards it has issued to illegal aliens (the large metropolitan cities that have flouted and obstructed federal law should realize there is a new sheriff in town and they run a great risk of losing federal funds if they continue this nonsense); in a what took you so long moment China appears ready to come on board to support further UN sanctions against North Korea’s exports of coal (great opportunity for Trump to remove any executive orders banning or restrict U.S. coal exports and start exporting to China); Muslims of America an Islamist organization that operates 23 Muslim communities in rural areas across the nation has ordered all of its unarmed residents to start arming themselves; in a surprise move going against the trend of replacing checkers with self checkout stations, Albertsons is eliminating is self check out stations; on the energy independence front the cost of producing oil from our massive shale reserves continues to fall which may signal the end of OPEC’s power to dominate the market.

November 29, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Giving Tuesday

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 29, 2016 Do not want to rush to judgment but at first glance with respect to Abdul Arian’s attempt to kill on OSU looks like a typical Obama failure to vet radical Islamists from reaching our shores (wake up call to Blues—this is one of the reasons why you lost and will continue to lose until radical Islam is named, targeted and destroyed); the bait and switch scam of Jill Stein and her Green Party will not change the election but will add to her party’s coffers;  in another classic example of media hypocrisy President-elect Trump is being slammed for supporting the criminalization of flag burning, the same act if the burning incited violence that then Senator Hillary Clinton co-sponsored back in 2005; the left wing celebrities in Hollywood continue to heap praise on Fidel Castro; Cyber Monday was for retailers a huge success with on line shoppers spending $3.45 billion on Monday contrasted to a little over $100 donated to charities ; California is now waging a war of methane emissions from cows with costly regulations to reduce the methane from bovine belches, gas and manure (do not be surprised if dairies start leaving the state in droves and the price of milk going  up);  on the sports front a Brazilian soccer team going to Columbia to play in the finals was decimated when their chartered plane crashed, killing 75 people on board (in a display of sportsmanship the team they were going to play asked that the trophy be awarded to the Brazilian team.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to the Francis Craig, factoids of interest for this day in history, a relevant quote from Emily Thomas, while looking forward to enjoying a slice of lemon crème pie (killer recipe for interesting frozen one below), blessed with a positive attitude and secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. 1. Giving Tuesday—created by Harry Timms in 2012 to celebrate the kick off of year end charitable donations observed around the globe for five years and at least in the U.S. given Trump’s victory and his promise of lower tax rates in 2017 a good time to donate to your favorite charity.
2. National Throw Out Your Leftovers  Day—celebrating the need to toss those five day old Thanksgiving leftovers which even if in the fridge from right after the Thanksgiving meal are still now probably teaming with bacteria.
3. 1947 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1947 on a long run of 12 weeks in that position “Near You” by Francis Craig.  Here is a recording of Francis Craig performing the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbZLpAMnclQ
4. National Lemon Crème Pie Day—celebrating another way to load up on your calories and vitamin C at the same time. Here is an interesting recipe for a frozen lemon crème pie:  http://blog.thenibble.com/2015/11/29/food-holiday-national-lemon-cream-pie-day/
5. The Sanctuary Kid—celebrating the birth on this day in 1959 of Rahm Emanuel, the current mayor of Chicago where illegal aliens have sanctuary but ordinary citizens mostly black are being shot by mostly blacks at an alarming rate of 4056 to date with 656 of those killed; the mayor in terms of his response seems like a modern day Nero, fiddling away while the citizens of Chicago are being slaughtered.
On this day in:
a. 1887 Thomas Edison demonstrated the phonograph for the first time.
b. 1902 in the first professional football championship game the Pittsburg Stars defeated the Philadelphia Athletics 11-0 in Pittsburgh (from such a humble beginning we now have the spectacle of the Super Bowl.
c. 1947 in a massacre that dwarfed Mai Lai by the Americans 21 years later, the French at Mỹ Trạch, Vietnam after first raping dozens upon dozens of women, killed them along with over 300 women and children and burned down most of the houses in the village.
d. 1963 President Johnson established the Warren Commission to investigate the assassination of President Kennedy.
e. 1972 Atari announced the release of Pong, the world’s first commercially successful computer game.

Bait and Switch for Stein Sore Loser for Hillary

The two women presidential candidates appear to be acting somewhat stupid today
Jill Stein is acting like a temper tantrum spoiled child in losing the election but in the limelight wants to stay
Using what looks like despite all the disclaimers a form of bait and switch
Not to alter the election but to the Green Party’s bare cupboard try to enrich
After 8 years of Obama’s weak and feckless Oval Office stint
This nation to regain its standing and prosperity needs a new leader blueprint
With zero evidence of voter fraud and a history the results needle barely moves by a recount
Jill Stein is facing credibility problems she cannot surmount
And Hillary now winless in two attempts
Where over half of the voters hold her in lying dishonest contempt
To come on board the Stein recount is a pathetic joke
A despicable only image of a bitter sore loser to evoke
And just maybe to the millions that want to see this corrupt politician in jail
She wasted her get out of jail card; on January 20 she may need to start raising money for bail

"Vetted" Somali Wounds 9 Buckeyes

Once again we have been reminded on why the Obama clone lost
Opening up our nation to unvetted refugees brings with it too great a cost
An 18 year old refugee from Somali copycats Nice  with a car
Tries to mow OSU students down crashes before going very far
As students rush to see if he is injured after the crash
Abdul jumps out to stab and slash
9 students are wounded before this fanatic is shot dead
When will this idea that we have been vetting Somalian and Syrian refugees be shed?
Here is a fact that even the golfer in chief should be able to understand
A promise by him that refugees will be thoroughly vetted so they should not be banned
Is as worthless as a wet scorecard exposed to a rainy day
As a reliable way to be able to you to be able to your golf score display
This promise is worse than Obama’s mantra of “if you like your health plan you can keep it”
As Abdul just proved when the feds lie by unvetted young Somalis they admit
Then compound the error by making him a permanent resident
All sense of common sense and competency out the window went
We all are at risk of being maimed or facing death
People voted for Trump or against Hillary for many reasons but this one I suspect even the left cannot ignore
Fearful of the dangers posed by jihadist refugees when they marked their ballots they cursed Obama and her and resolved no more!
Any promise or assurance coming from Obama’s lips in the very short time he has in the White House left
Has about as much credibility as a “I am clean” promise coming from a crackhead or an addict smoking meth.

November 28, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Cyber Monday

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 28, 2016 The delusion of the left over Fidel’s death continues to amaze-from Stein who praised him as a symbol for the fight for justice, to a real stooge and lousy quarterback Kaepernick who praised him before yesterday’s game with the Miami Dolphins (he was booed throughout and the 49ers lost yet again when this stooge was tackled on fourth down by the son of a Cuban-American immigrant and not to be outdone in the delusion race, BLM chimed in with praise for this brutal dictator; if I were Raul I might rethink my policies now that there is a new sheriff in town; “Run. Hide. Fight.” Is not the new Buckeye football cheer but the text sent out on Buckeye Alert notifying students of a shooting in which early reports indicated 10 were wounded (fortunately the scene is now secure and the shooting suspect dead); Jill Stein continues to raise money to fund recounts that may never happen in a classic bait and switch scam but effective to bolster the meager coffers of a failed party; in a really glaring case of typical Clinton hypocrisy Hillary who savaged Trump during the debate and campaign for “shredding the fabric of democracy) is now an avid supporter of the recount efforts of Stein (Hillary should be investigated thoroughly by a soon to be really independent DOJ and depending on the evidence and not her political hypocrisy prosecuted for her handling of classified information and for the pay to play corruption with the Foundation, Bill’s speaking fees and her tenure as Secretary of State with hopefully if convicted in the interests of national unity, her being pardoned by Trump if the Foundation is shut down and the Clintons agree never to form another one or run for any federal office or serve in any capacity in the federal government; David Petreaus is meeting with Trump as a possible Secretary of State as the controversy over Romney is not abating.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to the Frankie Carle, factoids of interest for this day in history, a relevant quote from Dave Barry, while looking forward to enjoying some turkey leftovers from your Thanksgiving meal, blessed with a positive attitude and secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. 3. 1946 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1946 on a run of 8 weeks in that position “Rumors Are Flying” by Frankie Carle.  Here is a recording of Frankie Carle performing the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6KIKEeplsQ
4. National French Toast Day—celebrating another quick and easy breakfast treat.
5. A True Sorority Fox May Be One But a Biased One Is Mean—celebrating the birth on this day in 1962 of Jonathan Leibowitz better known to his fans as Jon Stewart, noted comedian and talk show host who has had a running battle with Fox News that he calls the “Meanest Sorority in the World.”

b. 1895 the first American automobile race took place from Chicago to Evanston, Illinois, a distance of 54 miles, which Frank Duryea won in a blistering pace of 10 hours, far slower than a competent super marathon runner could run the distance. .
c. 1925 to the joy of country music fans the Grand Ole Opry began broadcasting in Nashville, Tennessee as the WSM Barn Dance.
d. 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts one of the nation’s premier night clubs, the Cocoanut Grove caught fire killing 492 patrons (30 more than authorized in the building) and workers and injuring hundreds—the worst nightclub fire in this nation’s history.
e. 1972 Claude Buffet and Roger Bontems had the dubious distinction of being the last criminals guillotined in Paris at La Santa Prison.

The Back Nine of Life

The Back Nine
The analogy of life to the game of golf hits the nail on the head
The idea of the four seasons with the leaves turning color then being shed
Or the snows coming down, first melting, not sticking then slowly into drifts
Plodding ever so slowly as surely, ever so surely one loses the mobility gift
Until covered from head to toe never to be seen again
None of us are immortal always the question of not if but when
But the days of a season are never in a straight line
Subtle changes sometimes hard to clearly see or define
But golf is really much more zero one
Like match play unless delusional one knows when it can be no longer won
Down nine holes on the tee at ten even if in the past it has always been your best hole
The best to be hoped for is a tie followed  by sudden death to reach your winning goal
Drop another hole and your chances have come to an end which for many might be a relief
A chance to accept the loss without a bunch of “I wish I would haves” that bring only self anger and grief
As long as the game of life does not issue to each player Mulligans on demand
One should know exactly where after each stroke one will stand
Half of one’s life to correct one’s mistakes
Should turn any rough seas into a much calmer lake
Even with one half, correction is not quick enough
And the seas are still and growing rough
Still enough time to spread the oils of acceptance on the stormy waters
Even if delayed to the few remaining days when in a mental wheel chair able only to totter
Today I need not the ability to swing a club to chase the double eagle or hole in one
Joy enough to craft a poem and feel the warm rays on my face of the Sun
In the game of life today I feel I have won
The past cannot be edited to rerun
And tomorrow has not yet even begun

November 27, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Advent Sunday

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 27, 2016 The world has a chance of being a better place as one more brutal repressive dictator, Fidel Castro (who to the amazement of people who fled his repressive failed regime is being praised by many of mainstream media and the left like Stein who tweeted Fidel was a symbol for the struggle for justice in the shadow of an empire-U.S.),  bites the bullet and dies at age 90 (unfortunately his policies live on to the disappointment of the Cuban people in his Brother Raul); H(hypocrite)RC after sanctimoniously blasting Trump during the campaign for alleging the results of the election might be rigged joins the Green Party fund raising device to demand a recount of three swing states she lost because of her dishonesty and untrustworthiness; after the media has been up in arms over the “disarray” in the transition team, David Axelrod who was instrumental in Bill Clinton’s transition team has admitted that Trump is further ahead in the process that they were at the same time after the election; Wells Fargo is not yet out of the woods over its sales practices which forced its president John Stumpf to resign as another class action law suit has been filed which Wells Fargo is trying to force into binding arbitration; protests continue at the Dakota Access Pipeline as protestors are ignoring an eviction order and have turned tragic as one female protestor is facing major surgeries to save her arm either from a police concussion grenade or a propane canister she was holding (I shudder to think of the protests of the much longer Keystone XL that Trump should approve on day one of his administration; on a final note, I hope you still have credit availability after Black Friday and Small Business Saturday to further go into debt on Cyber Monday.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to the Harry James and his Orchestra, factoids of interest for this day in history, a relevant quote from Caroline Kennedy, while looking forward to enjoying a slice of Bavarian Creme Pie, blessed with a positive attitude and secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. Advent Sunday—celebrating the first day of the liturgical year and the beginning of Advent to prepare for the birth of Christ.
2. National Electric Guitar Day—celebrating the contribution of the electric guitar to music thanks to the joint effort by George Beauchamp, a musician, and Adolph Rickenbacker, an electrical engineer, in 1932 to create it and celebrated on this day as it is the birthday of Jimi Hendrix, considered by many to be the most influential electric guitarist of all times even though his short-lived career ended at age 28 from and overdose.
3. 1945 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1945 on a run of 3 weeks in that position “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” by Harry James and his Orchestra.  Here is a recording of Harry James and his Orchestra with Kitty Kallen ( died in January of this year at 94) on the vocals performing the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJFf29jUnrs
4. National Bavarian Crème Pie Day—celebrating another high caloric desert created by the French consisting of a mixture of pourable custard sauce combined with gelatin, beaten egg whites and lightly whipped cream poured into a pie crust then topped with one’s favorite toppings such as fruit, berries, or liquers.
5. Last One Standing—celebrating the birth on this day in 1957 of Caroline Kennedy, the last surviving child of JFK and Jacqueline Kennedy who is serving as the Ambassador to Japan.
On this day in:
a. 1835 James Pratt and John Smith have the dubious distinction of being the last people in England to be hanged for sodomy.
b. 1924 the first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was held in New York City.
c. 1945 in another example of the generous nature of most Americans, CARE was founded as a means for Americans to donate food and hardware to war ravaged Europe.
d. 1973 thanks to the 25th Amendment and in a display of bi-partisanship rarely seen today following the resignation of Spiro Agnew as Vice President due to his plea bargain on charges of bribery and tax fraud that required him to do so, the Senate voted 95-3 and the House 385-37 to confirm Gerald Ford as Vice President.
e. 2015 in another chilling reminder of the passions that exist in some segments of our society on the issue of abortion, Robert Lewis Dear, Jr. opened fire in a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, wounding 6 police officers, one of whom later died and wounding 6 civilians, two of whom later died; after 5 hours he surrendered, found incompetent to stand trial and is now incarcerated in a Colorado psychiatric facility.
Reflections on what else other that making America Great Again in terms of the economy is also needed: “As much as we need a prosperous economy, we also need a prosperity of kindness and decency.” Caroline Kennedy How right she is especially since both sides during the campaign found their kindness and decency accounts totally overdrawn with both Obama and Clinton still wanting to write insults knowing they are NSF.    Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs.
